yeah, give me sponsors and a mongo budget and me or anyone can create a truly "sick" truck. I don't think that a truck's coolness factor should be determined by how much money one can pour into a project. In that case only rich "fufu" boys would have the cool trucks, I personally like to see an average joe restore or rod a truck, by trading, buying original parts, and/or fabbing parts. I also like to see trucks driven everyday, not just trailered. A real truck guy will buy the green farm truck and do the work himself, a "fufu" truck guy would buy the copperhead truck and just drive it until something better came along.
Just my $0.02

Like to see copperhead park his truck in my neighborhood.

Only in the sense that you indicated your posts were for my amusement. As in this little guy here -->

Again, I defer to definition #2 of the word fool:

Ebay link - Not mine

My knit picks are the seat cover, but hey, OE fawn is not available so I guess you have to compromise, and the front hubcaps look odd. Better pics would have been nice too.

Now this one I am jealous about

I have a 68 suburban that has the same int color and style of seat covers, to the post about the wrong style. My 70 RS/SS Camaro is the medium metallic green originally, but the dark metallic green is way nicer. I cannot get behind the LB V-6 deal and for Copperhead, anybody that says they do not like it is just jelous. It will hook if someone that knew how to luanch was driving with slicks rather than hard street rubber. I know the 572 is like $12k all by itself. As for the rest of the truck, it is not exotic and could be replicated and is definately USEFUL. How many smiles to a gallon do you think it gets, alot I'll bet.

Definately with the farm truck on this one. Thats not only a farm truck, it'd be my daily driver. I enjoy stock vehicles more than modified ones just because not being able to grow up in the era that these vehicles were made makes them more time machines for me than anything else. I've got some mod's done on my trucks but only to the ones that were already modified. Nothing against slightly modified trucks but trucks that are just an old body on basically a new age frame and chassis don't catch my eye like the old work horses these trucks were built to be.

The "green farm truck" brings these thoughts to mind:

1.) Long wheel base =

2.) The color =
3.) The "unfinished" paint job =
4.) Those hubcabs = .

5.) The 305 V6=
6.) That "Buy It Now" price =

I will say this about it though ... it would make a damn nice candidate for someone who wants to try out their new Sawzall.

Thats not a "real truck" its too nice and has a roll pan. Dont you know that in order for it to be a "real truck" it has to be 100% original, and be beat to crap from hauling extremely heavy loads its entire life. That also doesnt look like the original engine. Shame on you for trying to fool all of us into thinking you had a "real truck". People like us should be shot for ever messing with the holy relic which is a beat up old farm truck.

btw ....... im not serous. Good job.

I see you still don't get the point of this thread. I presume you're fairly intelligent so I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because you're an ?

Let me reiterate it again

Quote:
The intent of my post was to showcase another school of thought that a few of us of us on this board have. That is we look at these trucks and picture what was, not what could be. We aspire to maintain these trucks in their original state, often times for nostalgic or historic purposes. Not because we're unwilling to join the 21st century. I've seen many instances where a vehicle has evoked warm memories of visits to Grampa's farm, or long family vacations in the ole' Chevrolet. There's nothing or about that, no more than there is in the school of thought that dictates, "modify everthing, leave nothing alone".
It clearly says what I view as my philosophy, nowhere does it put down anyone elses. You're the one who steered the thread in the direction it's taken, so

It's fine we don't agree, but don't make it personal, or take it personal. Show a little maturity. If you can't, take a number. There is a whole sub-culture of out there to commiserate with.

I'm going to ask a moderator to close this thread, as it's strayed far from the original point.
