Often times people's customizations are not to my liking. I think the original design of these trucks is right on. But man do I like your hood!

As far as peoples style goes? I'm with you but how boring would life be if our trucks were all done the same. |

Re: Winter 19/20 66 C10 build
Update; The box is painted and ready for cut and buff. I had originally planned to widen a set of original wheel tubs but wasn't looking forward to the hours of work and wanted to keep some momentum. These tubs are for the Square body truck, the same as the 73 - 79 with out the flange. i had always planned on welding everything in the box rather than bolting it together so these made sense (and were cheaper)
Working on the bed wood. It'll be satin black with the strips matching the trim and wheels. |

Re: Winter 19/20 66 C10 build
Mine is similar but will be bolted in. I like being able to un-bolt stuff if necessary.

Re: Winter 19/20 66 C10 build
So with all of the big work done I'm switching into finish mode and getting set to start the wiring. I went to Fall Carlisle this last week and was kinda let down at the lack of used parts for C10's. Anything you want for a chevelle or Camaro though, its there.. its changed a lot over the last 40 years.
Anyhow, i wanted a tach in my dash. I did find one fella selling dashes for our trucks. New rebuilt, stock or parts. Any thing with a tach was $500 and up. So i came home and figured id tare mine apart and see what i could do. I had an original Knee knocker tach for a 66 chevelle that had a busted mounting ear so it became my transplant. I know its not perfect, but at first glance someone who is unfamiliar would think it was stock, and those of you who know different might think its alright? Either way, I'm happy with it and ill now have a working Tach. |

Re: Winter 19/20 66 C10 build
I'm trying to decide if i want to install body side moldings or leave them off? If i do install them they will be painted to match the rest of the trim.

Your truck is very clean looking, but I think throwing the side moldings on there would really set it off! They get my vote!
