Re: my radical 4x4 dually project
some more pics from the last few weeks , these show the airride systems from kelderman the front went together perfectly, however the rear system was apain as i had to re fab almost half of the brackets I think the guys at kelderman need a big kick in the butt to get their brackets square and straight!!!!!!!!!! I was very pissed at their attention to detail, a 16 yr old that works for me in summer is way better at fabbing nuf said here are the pics!

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project
Holy Crap! That is one massive undertaking... how long have you been working on it? You say it's going to be a welding rig when done? That is going to be awesome. I like the color, what flavor is that?

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project
i started the project chosn1 back in 81 when it was a1/2 ton lowrider,i chopped 5 outta the roof shaved the emblems, side markers and door handles and primered it, i missed driving it to my high school grad by 2 wks I wore the truck out over the next few yrs towing a ski boat from calgary to kelowna for slalom competitions, racked up almost 90,000 miles then the truck sat for 12 yrs in my yard. this time around i began grafting the cab and front clip to the dodge chassis in2003 and i hope to be mobile in spring 07,the truck will have 5 pull on decks, welding deck, steel hauling rack system, enclosed toy deck dump box, and of course one of my custom aluminum trailer towing decks as seen on my website www.rockalta .com the flavor coat is 2005 dodge daytona truck color called go man go

Awesome! Where did you get the spiked nuts at? I have been looking for some and have come up empty handed.

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project
that framework will be a flatdeck with headboard and steel hauling rack above the cab and those nuts are out of my fastener inventory for the bikes we build, anyone can get them from a local hd dealer or from custom chrome catalogs or v-twin etc. i can send them to you but shipping from canada to the us would be too much!

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project
Congrats on the new little one. Nice truck also. That color is close to my '93. Prowler Orange. What are you going to use for a windshield? Lexan or have a windshield cut to fit?

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project
Very Cool
Here are a few pics of the dually my hubby built a few years ago. It was a blast. We pulled out many Power Strokes, Cummins, & Z71s. If you could fit between the trees; it would go through anything! |

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project
THANKS we had a blast with it!
The tires are 38.5x11x16 Boggers. He made the wheels (16x8 rimbands & dually centers) so the offset & such would be right. I think the biggest reason we had to make wheels was the inside of the 2 tires would rub each other if tried to run stock type rims. Isn't that dually Skyjacker built on Alcoas??? But they could have had custom one made$$$$. |
