You can ship it via Amtrak pretty cheaply, if you get down to Boston anytime soon. Just bring it down to them, drained of oil and they will put it on a pallet for you. Can you send me your phone # again? |

Re: Misc Performance and etc
There's an Amtrak station just 20 miles from me. That sounds like a good option to me. Let me know.

Re: Misc Performance and etc
Ok Verified trans is an Overdrive, I called Drivetrain.com and gave them the numbers off of the trans and it is an Overdrive transmission. They also said that if it came with the 10 spline input that it was OD, I just wanted full verification. I also called Amtrak, I have to palletize the trans, the only destinations for a pallet is Kansas City, St Louis, and Chicargo. Cost of service is $55.00 plus the crate if I have to buy one which I dont have, and you and I have to go out of our way for either of these. Good news though, I can ship ground Fedex for $50 and it will be delivered to your door.
I know the trans was good and maybe I pulled it because of the gearing and put the M20 I had in. it's been about 8years or so.

What do you mean "tall" gears? and Why did you choose the M20 over this trany? (Now mind you, i'm looking for the overdrive.)

Re: Misc Performance and etc
Just an FYI on that A833. I have one and that casting in the pic looks like the odd man out. There were a couple different castings(3 in the chevy nature) and that one requires a special Bell housing. Bowtie, do you have the bellhousing that goes along with it? Can you post a foward looking picture of mounting flanges?

Also interested in the driveshaft that was used with this tranny - was it in a LWB or SWB?

Re: Misc Performance and etc
Just measured my SAG and it's 17 or 18 " from Bell Housing mounting point to End of tail. Looks like I'll be making a trip to the Drive shaft shop.
Does the shifter and linkage come with the tranny? Quote:
