![]() It looks like you ran your fuel supply and return lines all the way up to the engine - is there a particular reason why?

I was genuinely curious, I wasn't getting at anything ![]() I've never seen such a thing. Curiosity speaking here - how much was the braided fuel line (supply only)? You know how many feet it was? Can you show me some pictures of where you've got it terminating? Also, curious - sorry if you mentioned this before - but which manifolds are you using?

Re: my official 68 shortstep ls1 thread (lots of pics)
I don't update because I haven't been working on the truck for almost 3 months
![]() I got more updates now though. Tonight I bolted on the front clip and Cowl again (all but the 2 rad support bolts), I fabbed up my hydraulic clutch bracket on paper and IT WORKS! so I gotta get that knocked out. I also got battery tray hooked up and got the stock wiring integrated - deleted the voltage regulator, respliced several lines, removed any unnecessary lines... All in all, I'm good to go. I probably will not be updating my ls1tech page anymore - still a little bitter at some of the assholes over there. nonetheless though, I have info to share with regard to tapping out the oil pan to add a standard (mechanical) oil pressure gauge for your engine and some other stuff if you want it ![]() ![]()

The manifold side - if you can get pictures, that would be great!

Re: my official 68 shortstep ls1 thread (lots of pics)
Ok, here's what I got for ya. I didn't realize it but I already posted pics of this in my gallery
![]() ![]() http://satellitehead.com/images/68ch...p_on%20008.jpg http://satellitehead.com/images/68ch...p_on%20009.jpg Those are two huge closeups that will show you where to tap and how. You will see three things in the first picture: 1) The brass fitting and copper line for my oil pressure gauge 2) An aluminum fitting from S&P that is totally unnecessary (hindsight is 20/20, cost me $50 too ![]() 3) The factory tap (has two bolts holding it to pan) that I think is typically used for oil cooling line or something on LS-series engine pans. Here is the sloppy description of what to do to make this connection: * Take the two bolts out to remove that tap. * Take a good look at the piece and notice that you can drill a hole through it - it's just casted closed * Take a drill and drill the oil pressure tree with a 1/4" drill bit. * Next, run a 1/8" NPT Fine thread pipe tap to thread in the sensor. (Check the thread on your brass fitting for your oil gauge ti ebsyre ut;s 1/8NPT fine thread!!). * Screw in your oil gauge pressure line ![]() * Drink a beer, and thank shifty ![]() This is great way to add manual gauges. Also, to add a manual water temp gauge... http://satellitehead.com/images/68ch...p_on%20006.jpg On the rear of the passenger side head, you will see a hex head bolt with no obvious purpose - need a picture of it? Look just to the right of the threaded hole at the rear of the head here: http://satellitehead.com/images/68ch...anifolds10.jpg That's it. Pop that joker out - it plugs a water passage through the head. I think it's a pipe thread - NPT10 or something ? S&P sells the adapter to convert it if you want to buy theirs - but, as with anything else from them, it's priced 3x what you'll think it's worth...After spending the gas money driving around to every specialty shop known to man and wasting the money in gas I woulda spent on the part, I finally broke down and bought it from them.

Re: my official 68 shortstep ls1 thread (lots of pics)
good info on the oil adapter.. i planned on doing that, now i know it'll work... (thanks shifty) also thats where i plan on getting the temp from... that sucks nowhere has that adapter, ill probly waste my time and $ on gas too, until i brake down and go to S $ P..... here are the pics of the feed and return line at the fuel rail... the black fitting is my return (used black on the return all the way, from tank to fuel rail, for ease of maintance)

68SS, Nice job on the fuel lines. Shifty, did you ever get the headers figured out?

Re: my official 68 shortstep ls1 thread (lots of pics)
I ended up using '98 camaro headers. I have the blockoff plates on the way - paid $20 + $30 shipping for the headers - and paid $20 for the blockoff kit.
Hey - Saw something over at LS1tech today - you can remove the water plug above and drill out the center of it, thread it and tap that.
