Re: backwoods garage find!

Sure hate to see it lowered. I love the stance of our old trucks. I hated mine low, couldn't wait to get it off the ground. Course I am old school. I do like his wrench though, I need that for my collection!

My dad said that the wrench belonged to my great grandfather. He wasn't sure if it was used on the sawmill or the railroad.

Re: backwoods garage find!

That's one nice old truck Asa. I know the old guy is kicking himself in the butt for pricing it so low for someone to take him up on it. I know your bud there is like a kid at christmas right now too. He's gotta drop it sommmmme. Bout like yours would be fine. Good looking engine too. 71See10. That works!

I personaly would leave well enough alone or at least do it so that it is reversable.....If I was building one the temtation to do a shackle/spindle lower would be there though

Re: backwoods garage find!

Very nice truck. I also liked the old wheels better. Also think lowering a tad would look a little better but that is just my preference.

Re: backwoods garage find!

Welcome to the forum 71see10. Glad to see you finally got logged on and can chat about your new truck. You found a really nice truck that we would all love to own.

The changes you have made so far have really made a huge difference. I can't wait to see it lowered some more...

Re: backwoods garage find!

Great-looking ride. Keep one which this nice as stock as possible, I think.

I believe the wrench is a railroad track rail-end-plate (ends of rails bolt together) wrench. I've seen others like it where I grew up in North Missouri (Wabash RR town).

They make great fly-swatters, too.
