Re: Project: Green Machine ~ 1970 Build Up
Solver, yeah summer went by so fast, then we found/saved that 71 C20....
Anyway, the wheels are new Cragar "Soft 8" - 17 x 8 6 bolt 4.5 BS, kind of looks like the newer Chevy truck wheels I think. Tires are Kelly Safari Trex P265/70 R17. I like lowered trucks, but I like how this one sits too.

Re: Project: Green Machine ~ 1970 Build Up
I agree about the ride height thing (just a preference I guess.
Those wheels and tires should sufficently throw off your speedometer

Re: Project: Green Machine ~ 1970 Build Up
Forgot to update this thread, we got her running last Sunday, took it for a spin, everything is working great and no leaks. Put about 100 miles on it and changed the oil and filter. Have some more work to do to finish it up but it is street legal and insured so we can drive it now while we finish it up. Had the front end lined up this week and got the vent windows rebuilt today so we can get the side windows back in, its been a little cold and breezy some days test driving it !!!

I have a feeling you and your sons didn't mind the cold. That has to be a good feeling to get that truck on the road!

Re: Project: Green Machine ~ 1970 Build Up
Hey, the truck still has all stock height springs. The fronts are orginal and the rears are from LMC.

Re: Project: Green Machine ~ 1970 Build Up
Wow, I really love that color of green. I have been in search of a nice "true" green in just the right shade, but like you, I've found that alot of greens have a gold tint to them. I know you said you don't remember the paint code, but if you happen to find out please let me know.
Very nice truck! |
