Re: Cab swapping ?s

My uncle is gonna try to borrow his boss's truck and trailor, or work something out, so maybe one evening this week or next weekend.

I spent the day today washing/waxing Ol' Red... that's a different story :P

Re: Cab swapping ?s

Here's the update since I'm sure all two of y'all are dying to know...

Me and my other uncle are gonna tow it home Tuesday. its only about 3 and a half miles from my house, only crossing one major highway :P He's been pulled many times, he knows what he's doing... he stops us with the breaks in the donor truck, I don't touch the brakes and I go really slow. its do-able.

So, Ol' Red will be doing the duty afterall! Pics are gauranteed Tuesday afternoon. I'll make the new thread then.

Re: Cab swapping ?s

Grrrr..... I didn't post an update in fear my pottymouth would get the best of me.

My *insert nice 4 letter word* uncle forgot to call and remind his buddy today was the day. So me and my other uncle show up ready to pull the thing home, and no one's at the place!!!!!

We're gonna try again Thursday, I gotta beg to get off work, and its gonna be more inconvenient for the seller since its gonna be an hour later before my pullin' buddy/uncle can make it.

I knew you were gonna eventually bump it, im glad you waited a while, I woulda started swearin' like a bad kid and got myself in trouble.

So, HOPEFULLY Thursday evening.

Only bright side is my *smart* uncle realized he needs to bring a battery to roll down the power windows, so he doesnt suffocate on the ride home

Re: Cab swapping ?s

The truck is perfectly solid. Covered in dirt, yes. But solid. The interior has seen better days, but that's ok, its doodoo brown anyways. I gotta give the guy the money still, its still burning a hole in my wallet. I'm pretty much broke as a joke though. Oh well. That's trucks for you. I'll be drivin' Ol' Red and my uncle will be riding in the GMC being pulled.

Thursday is what we're shooting for.

Re: Cab swapping ?s

I hate having to depend on other people to do stuff...

Make sure you take off very gently in case your uncle forgets to keep the tow rope tight as he stops. It is really easy to break something, even if there are only a few inches of slack, when it suddenly jerks on the rope.

Good luck cliffsta!
