Re: Project Thread:Nothin Normal
is there any chance to get some pics of the cuts made for the chop top next time you post pics? i was thinking maybe some super subtle 1.5" chop maybe... with a layed back windshield so HOPEFULLY the roof wouldnt have to be sectioned. idk.. i got no experience, just some thoughts..

Re: Project Thread:Nothin Normal
ok I took a quick peak @ your profile.
your 24 years old. i guess my question is - what type of education do you have? engineering or did you go to tech school. this work is amazing for someone your (&my) age group! looks like you've been doing it for 50 years. awesome fabrication work. & what do you do for work to be able to afford these Awesome projects???

Re: Project Thread:Nothin Normal
Looks amazing.
My only concern would be the tranny getting hot? Will it? Or no? |

Well to correct you alil I just turned 22 years old.. but thats not the important part. And I went to school for 1 year for mechanical engineering but had many previous years of designing stuff and lots of years on autocad. I also went to wyotech in PA but i basically came into the chassis fab class with a set of blueprints for the most part of what i was gonna build and had the specs for that... so its just basically always been my life designing different ways to do the same job... And I Am very lucky to have parents that help me out with the money situation and i also have opened up Meticulous Fabrications in Milford Michigan to pay bills. On this project i will be building everything besides the internals on the tranny.. sorry for the paragraph... but thanks for the nice words

Re: Project Thread:Nothin Normal
I don't think the tranny heat will be an issue. Plus the whole floor and massive removeable tranny cover will be fully insulated for heat and sound perposes.

22 I think I'm going to faint. Your workmanship and design skills are amazing. I'm exactly twice your age, work for an RV manufacturer in engineering, have a Mechanical Engineering technology diploma and can't even imagine in my mind the stuff you are doing on that truck in the real world. Congratulations you are an automotive god in the making!

Re: Project Thread:Nothin Normal
I for one dig the chop you have done. If I had a 2wd, I think that would be cool but definitely don't like 4wd's chopped. I'm very eager to see more progress on your ride.

Budniks will rock. Also take a look at Intros. I am on the fence with chops but if done right they can looks nice. Yours looks to be headed inthe right direction.

Re: Project Thread:Nothin Normal
realy like the craftmanschip on the suspension .
you should be able to get quite a bit of suspensiontravel on that . better build a camera system on the passengerside of the blower or maybe a periscope :P so you can see who's comming from that angle

Now my question for you is are those bags going to be the final ones or are they just mock ups for other bags? Reason why I am asking is it would seem to me that they have two flex points, one right in the center of the bag and one more where your top mount bolts onto the bag. Running this thru my mind tells me it will flex in a bad way caising the bad to want to pop out of it's line of travel if that at all makes sence. Kevin LFD Inc. |

Re: Project Thread:Nothin Normal
Rokcrln.. i was worried about that too and it will need to be tweaked around.. so far my tests have been working perfectly with this design and it surprised me so i think i may just need alil bit of tweaks.. also i need to install shocks so i could mount them in a way to reduce the other flex point.. Thanks for actually looking into the design for more than appearance.
el curioso- the whole front suspension is mustang II setup for th most part... well its set off that geometry. I got th spindles from no limit engineering that work with th larger brakes for the mustang II an seem to be a great product.
