well i run all over sunday trying to find this special paint and wound up having to order it at car quest yesterday at lunch for pickup after work...

It looks good, nice job. But theres just one little thing that really bothers me, and thats the line of blue silicone on front of the motor where the intake was bolted on.

me and my son dropped this bad boy in today
removed the headers, plugs ,carb, installed the intake lifting plate

swapped out the cracked dizzy cap ,, and installed the flex plate,
use apr bolts with locktight

supported the trans with the floor jack

got her sitting in there with all the bell housing bolts installed..
the engine mount's tightened...

well the old back was to trashed to do anything today..
got some converter bolts, and a th400 carb mounted kickdown switch coming this week...o yea and some valve cover studs..
as soon as i get some parts in my hands .....I WILL GETT'ER DONE

sorry guy's for dogging this deal...got some new headers and they did not fit..
so had the completely redo the hookers and paint them...got them installed..

then found my new 400 sbc...o my god. i wish i had found that first

Cool score! What kind of heads are on it? I wasn't aware that GM ever put centerbolt valve cover heads on those engines... If they are swapped on, make sure the person who did so drilled steam holes in the heads, or you might have some other problems to deal with

worked all day out there today headers are installed and the accel shorty plugs.. all the plug wires,oil line, th400 kick down switch, tons of small stuff

installed the carb, cap rotor, crawled under the truck..installed the starter, converter bolts ( i love arp bolts ) collector gaskets and bolts

on this motor. I think I will follow your lead and use some nice bolts on my build. I can't wait for this baby to fire up
