Re: How many 4x4's do we have here?

Here's a couple pics of my 67 when i got it this spring. I removed the flatbed and added a 6" lift. It's getting a BBC, TH400, NP205, D44 w/disc, 14 bolt, and 35's w/ slots. Jason

Looking forward to pics. How much lift do you have to clear the 37's. Thanks Jason

That looks great. Please post pics when it's finished. I'd like mine to look that good when it's finished. I've got the flatbed remove already. I'm putting the brackets back on the frame to mount a fleetside box. Jason

I truely dont think that they are ever finished. Theres always something that comes out that you just have to have (lol). I thought that I was done with the suspension but I just picked up a set of swayaway coilovers for the front today. So much for it being low buck and done (lol).

Re: How many 4x4's do we have here?

I have a 4x4.. It is not a 67-72 but it is a 4x4.. I put a 88 700R4 and NP208 transfer case in it and freed up the front axle. Much better gas milage. Been thinking about putting an older body on it .. Maybe a 72 would look good on it.. It is a 79..

Re: How many 4x4's do we have here?

well heres my 72 3/4 longbed, thats getting a turned into a tahoe, i mated 2 cabs together to start the project, bought a wrecked powerstroke. and took the axles, auto trans, transfercase and stroke motor along with the complete harness and dumped it all on the 72. it will have a beefef up frame 4 doors and im not shure if it will be a convertiable or have a roof with a mini bed area. it will sit on 41" iroks on 20"s. its going to be a long build and i first need to finish up my 67 2wd shortbed, before this 4x4 gets done. heres a couple of pics how it is now and a crappy photshop i did just to show my idea.

Re: How many 4x4's do we have here?

A little late in finding this thread but here is a pic of my '71 4x4. Stock height on 31's. Being old school not much in the way of mods. Floor shift tilt, factory tach, factory tow hooks but custom bench with fold down console.

Re: How many 4x4's do we have here?

Hey Ironhorse, good looking truck! I also like the white '55 chevy in the background! Is that another '55 sitting beside it or is it a '56?

Re: How many 4x4's do we have here?

bad_turbo, Thanks for the comments on the truck. Wish I had some before pics in the computer. Pretty sad lookin' truck when I got it.

The '55 you see in the shed is a '55 2Dr. wagon I bought several years ago. Needs a LOT of work but is mostly complete. 235 Inline 6, three on the tree with manual overdrive unit. Not a Nomad, called them a "Handyman" back in the day. Bought for the grand sum of $125.00 from a guy at work who lost interest in it. On the back burner behind my '71 Chevelle SS, '57 2Dr sedan and I NEED a shop badly. Just can't do it right now $$$ wise.

The '56 you can just barely see is an actual NOMAD that belongs to my brother-in-law. It's more of a basket case than my '55 but it is a true NOMAD.

Can't tell you how many times I have had people stop when driving by and ask if either one is for sale? Stock answer is : Nope, but thanks for stoppng by.
