One Piece 67-72 Windows (no triangles)

As the title says this is for the 1967 - 1972 Pickups and Suburbans.

The glass will come either clear or "green" or for an additional $20 grey tint.

ehm oh whell .
according to that wat i read on this thread the electric kit is based on the stock windowmotors found in chevy pickups and if youre realy strapped for cash you could order the manual one and add some junkyard motors and electrics on it saving a lot of money .
i haven't driven my truck for long distances so im not in the position to say if the kit is worth anything compared to the little traingle windows as in stock in terms on the windnoise around the windows , if i cant hear myself think in the truck because of the noise inside the cab i would consider buying the one piece versions or fit some winddeflectors

I'm still interested. $130 bucks more & no 'triangles' = $ well spent for me. I was trying to figure out a way to camouflage (sp?) them since I wasn't putting mirrors there.

I wouldn't mind doing my 74 as well but for the money it costs..... I'll do my RestoRod first & see what's left over in the budget.

Can anyone tell me the reason to gong to the one peice window? Other than esthetics, what purpose does it hold?

you don't have to worry about the wind noise from unsealed vents, and they look sweet.

Another advantage is being able to use a custom mirror, like in the pictures at the begining of this thread. Doors on these trucks are short fore and aft. With the wing vent, it's tough to see out the mirror when it's positioned to clear the wing vent.

i think this would make some cash for those interested on inventing and producing it .
there used to be these radio and cb areals you could slip on youre window before closing it , hearing scoty say he wasnt putting mirrors on got me the idea of mirrors on a clip that slides on the window in the front or over the top , that way you conform regulations when cruising and can take them off when showing the truck off in the parkinglot or on a show should be eazy enough to fabricate

FWIW . . ..... If done w/care, the old style 'peep' mirrors can be snugged down on top of the door frame as a temporary measure to get inspected. I just don't want any late model looking mirrors on my RestoRod (prob no mirrors @ all).

I like the "looks" of the single glass setup, but I love the wind the wing windows produce in the summertime (Miss that in my modern daily drivers). Second, I think unless you're just happen to be loaded with extra pocket cash, the upgrade is just too expensive for the amount of "Wow Factor" it produces. JMO.

For me it's not about the 'wow' factor. If you don't use the triangles as a mirror base, they look like an after-thought when you view the door. What color do you paint them? Roof color? Door color? Match them to the tint of the window?

For me, it would be better to have them just disappear.

For those wanting to know, the Blazer option will be availible at the beginning of March at the latest. It will be about a $60 option for the kit.

The Suburban glass will be availible in March after the initial run of the pickup/Blazers.

Hey Chris, quick questions for you....

As anyone who has ever replaced their door rubbers probably knows by now, there is a provision on the door where the vent window rests. When you look down on the door with no vent window installed, the gap is wider where the vent window is versus the rest of the door.

Can you do me a favor and take some pics of the door opening with the window rolled all the way down so I can see if it looks goofy or not where the window slot is wider after the vent window is pulled out? I don't understand how it would be possible to compensate for the gap, and, while I've been mulling over buying this kit with income tax return around the corner, after replacing my door rubbers, this is one of my last concerns.

So, I guess I have some questions:

Can you show overhead pics with the window down?

Does the kit come with a new "squeegee" rubber?

What method is used to secure the new rubbers where the vent window used to be? I assume that it uses the factory provisions, but I don't know if there are any factory provisions where the vent window is.

I understand that this info may not be OK to release until the patent is issued, so if you cannot respond, that is OK, or if you prefer to take it to PM or call me, that is OK also. I can shoot you my cell# or something.

all dfw guys this kit will be avaliable at the decatur swap meet next weekend 250 manual and 550 power vintage glass he will be in a white trailer. kit includes everything to install including new scrapers and seals
