Re: Help us choose a paint scheme!
I understand and agree about the tribal flames on truck #1 being dated, but the way that the flames are broken up and allows a lot of contrast looks so much better then the flames that cover the entire front of the truck. I like being able to see more of the base green throughout the tribal flames..

Before this I would have never thought of doing two-tone on a stepside, but it definitely can work. Beautiful work as always Carter! |

Re: Help us choose a paint scheme!
Here's a good example of what I mean. This is a similiar styled paint job. Carters version is much more refined but you can see my point.
Oh, yeah, the pic is almost 10 years old....

Re: Help us choose a paint scheme!
I had to vote for the cream over black. It's just plain awesome. Now if i could just expand my 3D skills beyond extruded logos and flying text I'd give Carter a run for his money (not!).

Re: Help us choose a paint scheme!
OK...HUGE thanks to Carter and to everyone for their feedback. After considering the "Aging" factor of trendy schemes and everthing else this is what we've come up with.
Special thanks to Josh K Hopefully we don't prove our incompetance while following this build on here |

Re: Help us choose a paint scheme!
I like the lastest one the best.
Am sorry but the tribal flame is ugly and soon a trend hopefully forgetten. The classic style of flames is timeless because it cant be dated unlike many other paint trends. The colors work well together and have a nice clean two tone look. Althou I would carry the line throu the handle as where it dips down is the first thing MY eye catches and it takes away from the paint job. Just my opinion...Eric

Re: Help us choose a paint scheme!
Different wheels? Please?
Not that those don't look good, but...they look good on every other truck that has them. It looks great though - that is a keeper. DLB |

Five spokes were cool 30+ years ago, and are still cool today. The only reason I don't have 'em on my truck was rally's were much cheaper. Are they a bit overdone? Yeah, but it's because they look awesome on these trucks.
