See if I have it right. My engine guy says no more than 32* total timing on the 383 roller cam engine I am installing with a MSD Billet Dist. and 6AL box. If I understand correctly I set the dist. timing with vac plugged at idle speed to like maybe 12*.. Then with vac hooked back up to vac advance I run engine up to say 1200 with light on timing mark and damper tape and romp the throttle hard. I should see no more than 32 on that timing tape.
Do I have it correct???? |

So my MSD is set with the blue bushing witch gives me 21 deg mech advance plus my intial so if you wanted 32 you would set intial to 11. Then hook up you vaccum and set up you idle on your carb.
