Wow,Killer truck!!!!You are hauling as much hinny as the truck is going to!!!What are the specs on the wheels...back spacing,width,tire size f/r,you know the usuall stuff we need to know...Great build and doing an awsome job posting pics...nevre get enough of those pics...Very cool truck.I really dig the whole tow pig idea..thats what i have planned for my 59'.

Wow, I love the serpintine set up. That'll be something I'll upgrade to someday. My set up is V-belt, and I wish I would've gone serpintine. Keep up the quick work. My wife's just about lost patience with our build. Maybe there should be a forum for our wifes to rant to each other.

The trucks looking great! That thing will definitely move right along with that powerplant.

I noticed one thing that will cause you some problems down the road... You will want to change the upper-rear four-link mounts on your housing. You want the pivots to be in line with the rest of them, or as it goes through its travel it will bind, and eventually fatigue and break the welds. They are currently angled to match the housing, make one tab longer than the other so that the rear pivots are in the same plane as the front ones.

it will bind anyway because it is triangulated, but porter is right, those attachment points need to be parallel.

i am not in any way knocking your build, it looks killer, but i HATE triangulated 4 links, unless hiem joints are used there will be a bind when turning. the way ford dealt with that is to use very compliant rubber bushings, that allow the links to move around some, but then the suspension angles change, which is not a good thing. that is why i am designing an offset 3-link with a phb for my truck.

i really like the way that visor looks too...

I really appreciate the input and constructive pointers that have been shared here. I am taking the advice of others and picking up a piece of chrome molly tubing tomorrow and making a new shock mount point and I ordered new tabs today to re-align the 4 link. The reason that I went with such radical angles on the 4 link is because, on my other truck (pic attached) I did the 4 link as suggested. I works fine, but, I get a little "walking" of the differential at high speeds. I figured that if I increased the angle it would eliminate that. Obviously I didn't think it through completely. Thanks again for the comments and suggestions. That is what makes this board so great.

You were spot-on with moving the pivots closer together to "triangulate" the rear to keep the axle from having lateral movement. Keep them in the same location, just make it so the bolts that go through the tabs are parallel to the ground.

It's going to be pretty mean truck when it's done!

this is looking like its gonna be a killer truck when done, ecspecially for a daily driver!!! just one question, i have been looking for a serpentine kit for a bbc that is actually on a motor and i love the way that looks...how much did that set you back from summit? around 1200? again killer build and prostreet truck too!!

The system that I installed was 721.00 from Summit..........can't beat it. It list for $842.00 on the March Performance web site...........

Very nice job and I agree with the quality of the FatMan front end. I did add a triangular piece of tubing from the crossmember up the inside of the frame just for what that's worth. I didn't like the idea that it's only the bottom surface of the frame that you weld to.

Very clean job you have done there..........I agree that the "bottom weld" leaves a bit to be desired. It has posed no problems on my other ride, but, what you have done looks so much more finished! Fatman take note!!

Well, tomorrow I am going to start spraying primer on the cab and other parts that I have stripped down so far. I am thinking about possibly going with the Dakota Digital dash. I would love to hear from people that have used this product and let me know if it is as good as portrayed. Here are a couple of pics before the primer, tomorrow I will add the "after" shots............

Man, that thing is looking great! Every time I look at your progress shots, I can't help but notice how solid that truck is. It looks like the long trip to Arizona to go get it was worth every penny. My truck is from Southern California, and it's rust-free, but your floors look like they've never seen water or moisture. Keep posting pictures!

The amazing thing about it is, not only is it rust free, it is free from any dents!! An almost 50 year old farm truck and no dents. even the bed header panel and the rear wheel wells, no dents. It makes this build so much more enjoyable knowing that I don't have to spend a lot of time filling and sanding.............strip, sand, prime, sand, and paint........gotta love it.

Well spent the day doing all those tedious parts. Blasting and spraying them with primer........................The back wheels are supposed to be in tomorrow. This has been the hold up on getting the bed and cab off the frame. I went with 20 X 10 with 6" back-spacing. I am sweating bullets wondering if they will fill the hole as expecting. Beint that they were special order, I doubt if an exchange is an option. Tomorrow will tell the tell.

hey i got a question or 2 on ur pic. i want to figure out what they are.

1. in the first pic, what is that bracket right below the the gas filler neck.
2. what are those 2 brackets between the 2 hoodhinges and the topleft of the door hinge cover.

i have all those brackets, but idk what they are

The first bracket that you question is a front bumper bracket........the second is the glove box door brackets...................hope this help you.............

cool thanks. what about the the bracket thats below the top hood hinge. it has 3 holes on it and has a rounded over edge. its in the 2nd pic
