[quote=viking427;4828223]You have to hollow them out yourself. Lots of patience and a dremel.

Re: Show me your rims - 6 lug options
I have a 1972 Blazer that I would like to mount stock type steel wheels on. I believe the stock rims are 15 x 6, 6 lug. I would like to go to 15 x 8, 6 lug, to fill the wheel wells out a bit better. Does anyone know where I can purchase these? Thanks!!

Re: Show me your rims - 6 lug options
Dig around enough and you'll turn up a set. I found some here local for mine. I decided to go the steel wheel route too, since aluminum wheel choices are drying up, most don't have the correct backspacing needed unless you want to spend $200 a wheel.

Re: Show me your rims - 6 lug options
do it but paint the center sectioin on the rim black and leave the rim polished. The flat color of the cap looks wrong on the shiny wheel. Painting the center section of the rim will break it up nicely

Re: Show me your rims - 6 lug options
Polished wheels look better with the chrome caps they were intended for, and they aren't that expensive. Install what's supposed to be on there and leave it be. Drilling any holes to mount different caps, or even painting the wheels, is going to make for a very tough sale if you ever want to get rid of them.
As far as painting the wheels black, you may as well buy a set of steel wagon wheels for that and keep those for your offroad setup. Leave the aluminum polished. |
