Re: when I dinged up the side

I was wonderin`when you`d come off your pet thread, there.Just hoped it would be a new subject.
Any body shop will tell you they need to get into it to know the actual damage.A pro can get a good idea, first. But,we can only guess from lookin`at pictures.
Go to a body shop and get a detailed estimate...go to 10,IT`S FREE!!They`ll let you know what it needs from what they can see.Ask them alot of questions about this part good?,how about that one?Tell them your mom`s payin`.

Re: when I dinged up the side

take the hood off and grab a sledge and get the fender closer than it is keep your eyes peeled for the parts you need LMC has there catalog online with all the front end parts seperate so you can see what you would need then find it locally at salvage yards or craigslist or the paper or networking other guys. dont worry about a restore right now fix whats needed then move to other areas and dont do more than what you cant put back in time to drive where ever you need.

Re: when I dinged up the side

As I have posted in the other two threads there were several offers of FREE parts to replace those damaged in the crash take the board members up on their offers get the parts home buy the book regarding these trucks at your local auto parts store and just replace the panels for now. Should take you less than one day to unbolt the damaged pieces and bolt on straight replacement pieces and at no cost other than a little sweat equity.

Re: when I dinged up the side

You seem to have a problem with confronting dismantlization.Once you get beyond this fear your questions will be answered.

No it is not replaceable...many people buy trucks and dont check to see if this part is wrecked or not and end up having to junk the whole truck and start over...better sell it quick...since you cant replace it you might have to pay someone to take it off your hands...

Ok enough with the BS....

Yes you wrecked your truck. PM the members who offered free parts. Get them shipped to you. buy some tools. remove all damaged pieces. put non damaged parts back on. paint and enjoy. Do it and stop procrastinating.

Re: when I dinged up the side

Within that circle I see the inside edge of the fender from just past noon to around 6 o,clock. Then, about half past 6 is the hood bumper. That`s the chrome grille it`s bolted through, back edge runnin`right about 8:00.From around 9:00 to,maybe 10:25-10:30 is the end of the radiator core support. That`s what enverything in the front bolts to and it bolts to the frame. It`s what the headlights bolt to and your hood latch. That triangle piece right about 10:45-noon is the brace. There is incidental hardware to keep track of.

All this stuff is available.Have you looked at any build threads?Me neither. But,I bet there`s alot of pictures of trucks in various states of construction with pictures to show how it all goes together. At least if you look at enough of them you should get familiar with what it takes. That`s what this site is all about...Use it.

Re: when I dinged up the side

It looks like you will need a whole new bed! I have also seen in the past that the bolts holding the passenger side of your bench seat will also be damaged in accident as severe as this one. I would also replace all of the seat belts as well as the rubber brake hose on the front right side. It is also possible that the lug nuts on the left rear wheel have also been compromised. These are all easy things to fix with the bed being the most difficult to obtain. Good Luck!

Re: when I dinged up the side

You truck is totalled. Please scrap it and go buy yourself a Honda with very large exhaust tips and a wing.

Lots of forums on the internets for these type of cars.

Good Luck.

P.S. Do you know a guy named Tony Pardue?
