Re: Anyone else here have a beater?

Dorchester is ok, I usually hooked good there. Most nights I went I felt like I should be carrying though... Have made a ton of passes on that trck, just forgot to list it. My F body crew from Charleston runs out there, and the other places.

This is one of about 20 loads or so this winter.....

Re: Anyone else here have a beater?

I've been thinking of doing my Blazer in camo. It would sure hide my bad body work. I would pattern it after USAF 1008/1009s paint. Yours looks good, so that is what I will do with mine. if only I had snagged a few sets of tires instead of loading them on planes...

Mickey, you cant stop working them, if you do they stop working Mine has been haulin firewood too. Right now we have about 25 face cords, and we need more!

Re: Anyone else here have a beater?

Thanks, that paint job was done in 84 so 23 yrs old. been a great blazer, thing climbs real good, the blazer use to be black and white.

Your right the camo hides alot of rust, dings or whatever.

Mine needs new back gate its rusty threw and the window wont stay up

heres a face shot

i got bigger tires now and 6 or 8 inches more in the air

Every truck I have ever owned has hauled firewood. Its the only way I heat the house and shop. Propane would cost me $600 a month to keep the house around 55F! Its a kinda big place that isnt finished yet. I have a guy clearing some land who is selling hard maple for $50 a face, so yeah we move some wood. My orange truck is my beater, and the only truck that runs and has air in the tires!

Re: Anyone else here have a beater?

Here is my beater, that I bought over the summer. I finally had time to drag it to the garage to find out what it needed to be legal for the road. On top of the emergency cables I have sitting in the truck, I need front pads and rotors.

If all goes well, I will be driving it by the weekend.

Re: Anyone else here have a beater?

Paid 650$ for the truck, I changed the tank, replaced the rear brake lines, and rear wheel cylinders, and now the emergency cables and front brakes.

here's my dd beater. a 1974 GMC 2500 2wd. actually was given it by a friend this summer. only needed an oil change, alternator, and carb rebuild. drive it every day to work and haul parts and steel with it. just getting it ready for winter and then will tend to it this summer.

Hey randyjohn- Are those hubcaps hand-painted? You get extra points if they are! My paint job has bugs in it. I hear the PPO (and rattle can technician) is now in jail.
