I guess I'm beating a dead horse here with this back and forth, you're generalizing from your experience (which is far different from mine after 10 years of flying just about everything with a prop from experimentals to warbirds) and I just don't see that it's valid.

Don't blast me Bill --- your opinion is from a pile-it's perspective and trust me, i've seen plenty of that. As well, i have left seat time logged in a few birds as well, including the Ford Tri-motor and Citation X and am single pilot capable in the smaller Citations.
I'm not going to run down my aviation score card in this thread, because it is outside the scope of the thread, but my opinion on lubricants and fuels is based on the operating environment of a pressurized piston popper that has to go from 0 elevation to 16 or 17,000 feet , vs. an old truck that just has to stay alive to get someone to work.

You and I can butt heads like a couple of old computerized rams when it comes to lubrications, but i bet if you put us in the same hangar with a cooler of beer, or a fresh pot of coffee, the night janitor would have to chase us out.

So maybe your right, maybe i'm right --- doesn't matter, we both agree that Travis (70 GMC) just needs to change his oil regularly

I think a 3/4 race cam would be better than a racing chip for your truck. Make sure you use titanium pushrods too

Feel free to discuss your issues, because 70GMC threads have no scope.

Re: The oil is not even 3,000 miles

I put $32.50 worth of Royal Purple in my dirt track car ($6.50/qt). And flipped that night...Changing oil is BAD LUCK!!!

It supposedly adds 10 HP...didn't last long enough to tell.
