and i got the big 30 lb'er so i havent gone through 1 yet. but im almost there. the z i think was 2 and 3/4 inches. the reason so much was becuz i wanted the control arms to be at least 3/4 of an inch off the ground when layed out in case im riding too low and catch a high spot. and thanks, for all the compliments. hoping to have the bed set on in a couple of days..... check back for more progress. this has been a slow build but by far the funnest!

Re: My SFBD 85 Build-Up
oh, and my plans are to build a functional truck that i can jump in and take a road trip without any problems. i hope to get some exposure with it but its not the reasoning behind building it. it started out as a father/son when i was 14 and snowballed into something much greater. and here i am today 20 years old and still working on it. i finished it the first time with just a static drop, mild 350 and 17's and had an almost fatal accident in it and am now building it back up bigger and better. thank you for your interest.

Re: My SFBD 85 Build-Up
it was a drivers side hit. lost control in the rain and went ass first into a ditch and made a 7 ft drop off into a 8 ft circumference colvert and through me into the passenger seat with 3 broken ribs that was 1/8 of an inch from piercing my heart...... trooper said 3 more ft to the right and the truck would have flipped head first into an oak tree and crushed the cab..... sad day.....christmas eve at that....

Re: My SFBD 85 Build-Up
A little bit more but i put them on the uppers for a little better ride and to gain more room on the sides. i plan on running some 22x10's in the futrure and dont want there to be any issues as far as rubbing goes....
i plan on putting the fuel cell between the rails like i did before but recess it further down so i dont have to cut the bed out....
