Curious how well they fit and how well they match the factory ones. How much prep work to make them smooth, and where'd ya get em

Re: My build. Project Karma. 71 stepside.
All good stuff, I bought a decklid for my 442 from them back in '99 before anything was available sheetmetalwise for the cutlass.
Since we are on the subject of stepside fenders, anyone know where you can get a repop with the indention for the side mounted spare tire, mine has it and I think it looks *****in, but my fender is suffering from alot of rot on the bottom.

The cabs are sweet, but the price is steep. Glass is awsome! It doesn't rust.

Re: My build. Project Karma. 71 stepside.
WHen i left off the door was like this
Welded the door together and did the first body work on the truck. Im still working on that same door. ahaha. Filling in the pin holes. Will have some more pics this weekend, going to try and get the front of the truck pressure washed, and the rest of that pass. door ready to hang so i can pin the door and start on the other side... Im also tenatively trying to get the bed of the truck removed so i can install my c-notch and bags. I have found that if i work on metal for a certain amount of time that i look forward to working on body work, then i move back to metal work. Im always excited about doing something... You can only weld and grind so much before you start wanting to do something else. ALSO, Monster BB is ready. Mild build 454, 480hp and 520lbs of torque.. Cant wait to get this bad boy in the truck. pics of hte motor will be up tuesday... |

Re: My build. Project Karma. 71 stepside.
[QUOTE=lyrikz;2716075]I was surfing the board one day and saw a gentlemen talking about his Inline 6 knocking and him needing a new motor. I just threw up a post stating that i had a I6 that was rebuilt about a year ago, ran perfect, and that i would be willing to ship.
We talked back and forth through PM and i sent him a video of the truck starting and running... In this video, the truck had not been started in probably 3 or 4 months.. I had the wife pump the gas 3 or 4 times, and it fired RIGHT off.. No noise. Perfect.... As usual. I will miss this motor.... Oh, and if you ever need to ship a motor USE ROADWAY... It was 295 bucks from seattle washington to Baton Rough LA. Vid of engine start up... Embarassing for me. ahaha... And here is a pic of the engine all wrapped up and ready to go. Motor was 510 pounds with pallet. I pulled the motor, got a BEEEEFY concrete holder pallet (overkill), strapped it down, and wrapped it up.... He should have it on the 12th... Heres the pic of it going by by. I got the motor and it was everything Lyrikz said it would be and it also fired up just fine and runs great. I am a 100% satisified buyer and will post some pictures here soon. Thanks you Lyrikz! |

Theres a new member on here B17 on this forum.. He has a 55 that we pulled his cab and we sent to the blasters..... You see where im going with this.. He comes over and asks why im not sending mine.... i couldnt come up with a good reason so my truck now looks like this. So its not a frame off restoration. ahaha.. Cab is done now but i cant get it because its pouring outside and i have no way of keeping it dry... Since i had the cab off i went and took care of the frame. Pic of my tubular mounts.... Some por15. When i was pulling the windows to send out the cab (was going to pull them anyways to paint) i found a few areas that were not so bad, and a few areas that came out of no where.... Heres my semi naked cab ( what have i got myself into.) ahah. Here is the inside lip of the back window... What im hoping is that i can find someone with a junk cab that can cut that piece out and ship it to me so i can just patch that area... This is the OUTSIDE of that same area. Even worse. Anyone have a piece of a bad cab where that area is good??? Its the drivers side of the area.... |
