Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy
how did you mount it to the frame? looks like a better setup than I had with the conversion brackets.

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy
I can see where you offset them to clear the steering, my frame is stock other than being boxed and a M II setup. this is what I had before with LS1 conversion plates.
the motor was set back to far and i need to redo them. I will try the vette mounts

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy
Very exciting progress. Will you wait for this summer to make the maiden voyage, or is this truck going to be a driver?

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy
Thanks guys. Im hoping to be able to trailor the truck to Super Chevy In Feb. but drive it around the show. So driveable but not street worthy by Feb. and I live in southern Louisiana, so we really have no winter.
and I hope it makes a mag. At 19 I'd feel really accomplished. anyways...put fluids in it, tightened all the random bolts and plugs and stuff up, ran the vacume line from the back of the manifold to the hardline on the frame, weled an O2 bung in the end of the y pipe for a wideband O2, and got O2 for the computer...( I did shorten the harness wires for the O2 but this is before shortening...) then put the cab on the frame. Only sag was the valve for the air horn hit the cab corner. But I got it remounted and everything is good. then got it lifted up... these are the weather pack connectors that allow me to disconnect the cab quickly and take it off since any engine/trans/exhaust work has to be done with the cab off. random lagniappe pics... got a few more hours left it wiring then thats all pretty much done. Still need to tune the computer and it'll start off the key. |

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy
Damn dude you come a long way from building door pods to this truck. Are you planning any type of audio system in it?
Its me..DSZ71 from FSC (I long sold my 00 Silverado) I inherited a 77 C10 4x4 and am currently looking for a 48 or 49 project truck. For a kid at 19....you got some skill. You should consider opening your own hot rod shop someday in the future.

Im really not sure on a system. For now I don't have much of anything planned but a slick center console ...but I really just don't know. I may throw a couple of 8's in it through with some components in the kicks....but I doubt it. I wish a company would come out with a HU with a built in amp. That'd be nice. I've thrown around the idea of a car pc and using that to drive stuff, mostly my engine tune and stuff...but it could run stereo as well...like I said Im just going to have to see. thanks. I take pride in my work and do the best job I can. Glad you guys like it. |

Re: so lets build a truck/my '52 chevy
went to paint the grill and found bubbles in the original paint... then started to strip the paint to find this...
so all that sucked and basically took 3 days to get all the original paint and rust off but it eventually got painted.. reassemble... Last edited by cajundragger; 01-12-2009 at 01:43 AM. |
