Re: SD control arms released
still curious on how it drives/steers/handles. i think the price sounds good but not about to spend cash on a kit with no feedback on how it drives.

Re: SD control arms released
Maybe I missed this some were but are you re-selling Porters DropMember as a Vendor or is this just a Knock off you are trying to sell? Also do you have any feed back on how they ride, drive and handle?
Any on the road yet? |

Re: SD control arms released
Do you need to use R&P with this set up ? (like Nates dropmember) also do you need custom steering linkage ?

Re: SD control arms released
you doubt that but as a mag guy I talk to guys all the time that have different kits from fly-by-night shops that suck. I have one that looks great and works well but is a biiiattchh to align, I go through tires like there is no tommorrow. So the question to if it rides and drives nice is valid!
So does it, I would like to know what geometry it is based off of, Mustang II, Chevy truck? I have readers who would probably like to know these and other questions? Any install photos. sorry to sound like a jerk but it is my job to report to the readers. Josh

Re: SD control arms released
Thats a bit high if you ask me.
700 for the crossmember 700+ for the control arms 299 for the spindles 159 for the rack and pinion 500 for brakes $2359 plus whatever else you need, oh yea bags, another $250, plus add that for shipping and you are in it $3000, Sorry, I have to weigh the pros and cons

Re: SD control arms released
jkaylor68gmc,... the new lower price on the Dropmember is $999. ART arms are right at $1000. Bags should be $75 each for Slam Specialties. I got my front and rear Dropmembers plus all bags (Slams front, Firestone sleeve bags rear), 4 shocks, Steering linkage w/ joints and power rack with hoses from Nate for $4500 shipped. (that's including upper and lower ART StrongArms and before the price drop on the front Dropmember) I would also expect the ride to be the same as Nate's Dropmember since it was basically copied from it. Oops,... I mean reverse "engineered".

Re: SD control arms released
I might step on some toes by saying this, but here it goes. I know there is a lot of loyalty to Porterbuilt on here, and that's fine. But we should embrace competion in any marketplace, as that's the American way. I've never delt with Porterbult, but I've heard nothing but endless praise of his service and products. I have dealt with SD, and I will say personally that their service and quality of manufacture is top-notch. We should all just be happy that we have a choice of two awesome products, manufactured by fellow truck enthusiests right here in the good 'ol U.S. of A.!

Re: SD control arms released
All right, here goes.
Every body has personal preferences and everyone has their own reason for choosing which product they use and which vendor they do business with. Both are now Site Vendors and both have a ton of knowledge to offer the board, so let's not turn this into another One VS. Another post. This will be the only heads-up issued on the matter.
