i dont know why, but i always reffer to the control arms as a-arms, thats why i was confused. but i am not swaping out the crossmembers. I am going to ask this one more time since nobody has given me a for sure yes, but do i need the 71 ball joints in my 69 a-arms?

if you took the upper/lower control arms from the suburban and the ball joints are good , you can use those. If you didnt get them you will need to install upper and lower '71 balljoints in you '69 a-arms. the balljoints used for drum spindles are different from disk spindles.
*** another option ** if you have or can get the upper/lower 71 a-arms use those as is or replace the balljoints if needed, and you could try selling the drum assemblies with a-arms,spindles etc. to recoupe some $$.... Good luck!
