Re: 67-72 truck lovers ages....

37 here and got my first one 5 months ago. I can remember riding in my uncles, dads, and grandfathers since I was around 7. I just noticed that the leading category age is about the same age as our trucks. coincidence, I think not.

Re: 67-72 truck lovers ages....

Been in love with them since I first laid eyes on one in 1967. I was 7yo at that time...Props to all you young guy's and gal's that have them. I really thought that these were old fart trucks. It's really nice to see the young crowd see them in the same way that I do. Kewl.

Old Yeller and I are both '70 models. And I bought the truck in 1990 the same year some of our poll respondents were born.

At this instant, I'm one of 15 out of 185 who voted. I'm wondering how it will stand when the poll is done.

Growing older IS high maintenance! Just as our trucks get more expensive to maintain as they grow older and more stuff is available in the aftermarket, ditto for the old bod.

Re: 67-72 truck lovers ages....

Started my automotive career learning and overhauling cast-iron PowerGlides at a local Chevy dealership in the early '60's.

Still remember vividly when both the all-new '67 trucks and '67 Camaro's arrived. Also remember the new 307 V-8's that replaced the 283's in certain model lines.

Remember that 1967 was probably the first year GM attempted to advertize trucks as an everyday means of transportation instead of just for "truck" use.

Still worrying about the fate of Ford, Chrysler and GM. Imagine this scenario at the 2010 Daytona 500......Toyota vs. Nissan vs. Hyandi....OUCH !!

Glad to see a lot of younger guy's still take an interest in old Chevy trucks !

My age ? I fall into the "Older than dirt" catagory !!

Re: 67-72 truck lovers ages....

35 here. I have loved Chevy trucks my whole life. My Dad has a '58 step side Apache, 2nd owner (still has the Calif black plates) that he bought when we lived on a horse ranch in 1970. It is frame-off, total custom restoration. Slammed and tubbed, LOTS of subtle body mods.

My Granddad had a 70 CST longbed, original owner, that I drove around in from the time I was a baby. My grandmother unfortunately sold it when he passed away in 1992. I really liked the inside of this truck, which is why I bought a 72 for myself.

Re: 67-72 truck lovers ages....

I'm in the "forgotten 50s" group. I almost lied about my age 'cause I don't feel that old. I still drive like I was 18 sometimes....does that count??

Drove my first Chevy truck down on the farm at 15. A light blue '66 with a straight 6 and a granny low 4 speed.

Thumbs up Re: 67-72 truck lovers ages....

You may have left my age bracket out but I have personally owned my 67 for over 21 years. have a spare cab I'm experimenting on and sold a 67 4x4 a year ago that I had for 18 years. I've been customizing them for others about 34 years. Guess you can put me anywhere between 21-55 and beyond.

I'm 19 but I have loved these trucks for as long as I can remember. My dads friend has a 72 that I got to ride around in a lot as a kid, and I got my 68 two years agoe and I don't plan on ever getting rid of it.
