Re: Pics of my progress

Here are a few more pics. I have the mirrors on door handles and locks mounted and the grille. I picked up my seat from the interior shop. Let me know what you think.

Re: Pics of my progress

Truck looks great!!! Couple of questions:
What "dress-up" parts(Bumpers, trim)have you replaced? And where did you get them if you did replace them and how was the quality?

Re: Pics of my progress

I can't believe that I haven't commented on this thread. I have looked at it several times, but never posted. You have done an awesome job of bringing a plane jane old truck back to life. I love the simple two tone paint with a tasty pinstripe to break it up. The grill sets it off just right.

Have you considered adding a polished bar across the grill to match the head light bezels? It would look killer...

I have replaced every piece of molding, tail lights, running lights and outside door handles with nos GM parts. It took a lot of phome calls to different dealers all over the country to get the parts I needed. I did replace the rear bumper with an aftermarket one and it is ok but not the same quality that a stock bumper would be. Try to stay away from aftermarket trim it isnt very good. What ever you can get in nos parts or good used get them. The stock stainless can be repaired but it will cost some money. Thank you for the feedback on my truck.

Thanks N2TRUX. To here a statement like that from someone who owns a truck as nice as yours is good to here. I just wanted to put together a clean truck that could stand out a little in a parking lot. I think the bar across the idea may look good. I will have to check it out. Thanks again.

Re: Pics of my progress

Man that turned out nice . We need some good outside daytime pics . I notice the turnsignals in the grille . I wonder what they would look like painted black , or what ever it is that everyone is doing to their tail lights around here . They might disappear if they were dark and the light should still shine through . Your truck will definitely stand out in any parking lot . Looks like you had a good mental picture of what you were after and pulled it off well . NICE!!!!!

Thanks Frank. I will try to get it outside on Sunday. We still have a few inches of snow in the backyard. I dont want to roll it out and drag snow back in the garage. I'm not sure on the turnsignals yet. I dont know if they take away from the look of the grille. I my mount some thin L E D turnsignals on the support so they dont stand out to much. Thanks again.

The mirrors are stock sport mirrors. The grille is a LMC billet.

great two tone, one of the best i've seen on one of these trucks. The grille and coys set it off perfect, great job.
