Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3
I'll try to take some tomorrow. Our weather here is a rain, sleet, and snow mix today, kinda odd in southern Tennessee in April.
I used a late 90's column and adapted the '03 Silverado connecting universal shaft to it and the Camaro rack. |

Nice to see someone from home. My inlaws live on Fairview Church road. I lived down in Killen Al. for about seven years. Anyway good looking truck. Good luck with the newest project.

Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3
if you go down the hill past the church, the land on the right is where they live. Before the bridge there is a driveway on the right that leads to their log cabin. They own eighty acres, nice place to get away from the big city. We were just up there last weekend. Maybe next time we can meet up somewhere.

Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3
Sorry guys I've been running behind all day,and I didn't get to take any pics.
I think the V6 pump will work fine.As far as the wiring,I just pulled the pump out of the tank to see where the wires connected. That way you'll know for sure where to connect them,2 for pump, the other 2 for the gauge. Here's the mount I used; http://matt.undiagnosed.org/ls1/imag...t_plate_V2.jpg |

Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3
Tim,The ol' 60 is up and running.I got it unstuck only to find a bad head gasket. She smoked like a stove!
So, while I had it apart I put in a new set of rings and ground the valves and rebuilt the carb(had a couple of bent push rods too).Seems to have a lot more power now.I got it up to 75 mph, probably faster than it had ever gone before!!! |

Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3
thanks for the mount info, I made a set last night using the template. Fits the GENIII mount perfect, dont have a sbc mount to test fitment yet though.
In your pic I see you have the tank pressure sensor connected, is it necessary? also, did you only use the feed and return lines or did you use the black box(dont know what it is). |

Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3
Good lookin' plates. When I made mine I drilled the genIII holes first and used the motor mount to mark the other holes.
The other wires aren't necessary.I hooked them up when I installed the '03 gauges,to see if it would turn off the low fuel warning light.I haven't unplugged it yet. The other line is for egr I didn't use it but when I had the vats turned off on the computer I also turned off the egr, rear o2 sensors and any other things that would give a dtc (check engine light) for the stuff I'm not using. |

Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3
which headers (or manifolds) did you use? im still looking for some for my 6.0l going in my 66. also if its not too much trouble, could you take a pic of the inside with the newer column? im still undecided on which column i want to use, and im also curious how yours looks. also on your motor mounts, did you use the stock 1 bolt mounts or the newer style with the bolt that goes through? i ask because i used stock 66 mounts and im not satisfied on how it sits. it looks great and i can only hope mine looks as good when finished.
thanks, John

I know it has been a while, but was relooking this thread over and wondered how this truck is doing.

Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3
Unfortunately it hasn't changed very much. It's been so much fun driving it,as is and seeing the looks on peoples faces when I open the hood.I've been accumulating parts for a complete frame off build and I've still got a few to go before I tear it apart. Thanks for asking about it anyway.I'm planning on building a bigger shop this fall and starting the build this winter.
