Re: Guys with 15x10 Wheels - Inside Please
I was just out to lunch and spotted a mid-80s Dodge 150 with some 15x10 Black Steel cragars with some 295/50s .. It looked freakin awsome. I pulled up next him and asked if he would mind me double checking the rims/tires to be sure.
I've been thinking about getting some 15x10 V-5 Cragars with a beauty ring and some 295/50/15s. But am worried about the short tires on the stock suspension. The alternative is 275/60/15s I guess, but I don't think 275/60 looks as nice as a 295/50 on 15s. The offset on these rims is -44mm. My favorite trucks are 80s C10, Dodge 150s and Ford F150s. It would be great if I could find a Universal 5 bolt pattern that fit on all those trucks (5x5 and 5x5.5 I think). Does such a rim exists? Anybody got pictures of 15x10, 295/50s on stock suspension 81-87 C10? Thanks.

Re: Guys with 15x10 Wheels - Inside Please
I've got 295/50 on 15x10's and you'll want a 2.5/4 drop at least. I'm going with a 3/4 drop but its needed. They're too short for the stock suspension.

Re: Guys with 15x10 Wheels - Inside Please
sorry i just caught this subjuect but the 15X10 stock rallies with 5 in BS will fit under our trucks? Without cutting the bed or flaring the wheel wells? If so then I am getting a pair tomarrow but just wanted to clarify that and what is the absolite widest tire I can safely run on then with a 4in drop? Thanks guy you all rock!!!

Re: Guys with 15x10 Wheels - Inside Please
I just purchased some 15x10 chrome rallys, and looking for tires now. I had 275/60's on 15x10 rallys on an '86 that I owned, but it wasn't lowered. Now I have an '85 that I'm going to lower 2.5/4 and was hoping to see some 295/50's on 10" all around with a 2.5 or 3"/4 drop. Does anyone know where there might be some pics of that?

-45mm means 45mm behind the centerline of the wheel, so on a 10" wheel centered is 5" so -45mm would be about a 4 1/4" back space........ and Btw here is mine 15x10 vintage 60s ET wheel (I've owned for 20 years) backspacing is about 4"s with a 265/50sr15 BFG T/A.......in the rear fronts are 15x8.5 with the same B/S and a 225/60sr15 BFG T/A sorry the wheels are a bit nasty lookin ...... they have been sittin fer a while....... btw the first close-up is the 10"er.....

Re: Guys with 15x10 Wheels - Inside Please
you need to remember that a 10" wide wheel is actually 11" wide outer flange to outer flange, and need to apply that because that is where you measure backspacing from. So center of a 10" rim (11") / 2 would be 5.5" -45mm is approx 3 5/8" backspacing.

Measuring the wheels from outer flange to outer will vary greatly, depending on cast, spun or billet....i.e.; two-piece (spun outer) will measure about 10 1/2" or 10 5/8" outside to outside....the width of the wheel is measured between the beads, where the tire seats (because that measurement determines the size tire that will fit) the offset is derived from the centerline of the wheel Between the beads ), so a "0" offset 10" wheel is 5" (check out some wheel catalogs and you will see what I mean) So the -45mm would be 3.34 (about 3 3/8) not much different, however depending on the wheel it could be, My old cast wheels for instance measure about 11 1/8"......just wanted to pass this on

at the time, 2.5'' summit spindles ( witch were ground force) and 3'' springs, the rear was a djm flip kit and a 1'' lowering block.

Re: Guys with 15x10 Wheels - Inside Please
Don't know what the color is called but it is the same as my truck, the painter matched it from the paint on the floor that was still like it came from the factory.
I'll see if my painter has a paint code for it and post it
