Re: A few members and I might be making a road trip Sat

It was a really good trip, had a blast looking at old trucks all morning. As Randy said, most of these were pretty used up. Notice the 2 tone color on the 72 swb, its a color combo I hadn't seen before. 558 dark blue/medium blue was listed on the SPID! Anyway here are my pics. For those that like to collect SPIDS you will like a few of these.

Believe it or not every truck had a story, he could tell ya where and who he got it from and how he hauled it. A very personable guy....we didn't bring back any parts but I think the stories alone were worth the trip!

Looks like a lot of fun. There is a JY down here where the owner loves these old chevy's and specializes in them, only problem is he knows what his stuff is worth, doh!

Re: A few members and I might be making a road trip Sat

As I look at all those great picts it makes me wonder why do some people do this, just bring old vehicles to sit there and rot away. Why not find them and offer them to others that could use some of those part or better yet bring them back from the dead if possible. I could not go to a place like that I would be bound to having a stroke...

Thank you guys for sharing your picts!!!!!!

Randy,
That looks like a few that I had seen in the Abilene and Salina countryside. Looks very familiar. Although I know you didn't head that way did you?

Sad in a way to see so much potential and nothing to do about it - some of that stuff looks too far gone to consider...

Thanks for the pix.
