Re: Project Mistaken Identity (70cst-->67 GMC)
Great looking project....too bad you are going to the dark side....just kidding, I'm pretty partial to the 69-70 chevy more than any other model. Keep up the good work and THANK YOU for serving our great free county.

Re: Project Mistaken Identity (70cst-->67 GMC)
I REALLY hope you kept the side compartment on the bed. That's a badass idea they had. Jack, tools, place to put things that you might need. Looking good.

Re: Project Mistaken Identity (70cst-->67 GMC)
thanks guys...
and heck yah 78BO...I am going for like a retro rod...And as rare as those damn toolboxes are there was no way I was getting rid of it. I kept the in cab gas tank..didnt shave the filler the door handles locks or the toolbox...those are the kinda things that make it a 70 chevy. People are always like dude i didnt know they had toolboxes back then. Then there is always the guy who wants to buy my damn tool box door lol. Jimmy

Re: Project Mistaken Identity (70cst-->67 GMC)
well I am back...been gone a long time..did a tour up in Alaska..deployed etc. SHipped Kat back from alaska via Army shipping company and they jacked my truck all up..backed it into a building and damaged her ass plus dented her drivers door. There mechanic also jacked the timing up in my motor amongst other things resulting in a flat cam..and they broke my shift linkage in my fresh hydraulic conversion i just did...Had to threaten to sue but i finally got them to cut a check for the 12 grand in damages they did.
--so some things i did since a couple years ago..stage 3 clutch and hydraulic conversion...thats about it. --anyways shes back in a shop called mid souther restorations in tennassee and they are redoing my paint job the right way..wasnt happy with the first one anyway.. so Kat gets a Make over version 2.0 --also i ordered a 5.3 from bd turnkey engines and I am having him do a z06 cam swap with ls6 valvtrain so she is going modern fuel injection. Ill be putting the new motor in sometime in the future. here are some pics...good to be back to the board.

Re: Project Mistaken Identity (70cst-->67 GMC)
forgot to mention i had them weld over the incab gas tank whole and pull the tank..I am putting a 20 gal fuel cell in the back of the bed.. I would have done under the bed but all my airbag stuff is there and it would be to much of a pain to move it..plus i kinda always dug the fuel cell look.

Re: Project Mistaken Identity (70cst-->67 GMC)
It's been a while since I've looked at this thread. Glad to see you're back at it. Bummer the lack of respect those guys gave your truck. Hope all goes smooth with the new paint. Same color?
