Re: American Autowire Update wire harness kits finally here!!!
Looked at the 68 I am working on and the 69 i have. Two main differences is the original fuse box is mounted horizontal on 68-68, vertical on 69-72. Wiper switch on left on 67-68, on the right on 69-72. I can see no real reason why the kit can't be used. The other thing you may need I don't know if included in kit is a steering column connector adapter from a half moon to flat style.

Re: American Autowire Update wire harness kits finally here!!!
Just got off the phone with AAW. They are running about a week behind, they underestimated the popularity of this kit. Hopefully all our orders will still ship this week.
Also, talked with Donny who developed the kit. The deal with the parking brake is where the cable passes through the firewall interferes with the new fuse box as it sits further off the firewall. You will either need to reroute the cable, or use a 69 and later foot e-brake. The wiper switch is set up for right side and wires may not be long enough to go to the left side. This is an easy fix with the use of a 69 or later bezel which we could supply if the customer wants. The park light connections are also different. You will have reuse the factory connector on the front light harness if you do not want to cut your park light pigtails, or cut your park light pigtails and use a different connector. One other thing that will need done on all installs is you will have to open up the fuse box opening to accept the new later style fuse box. A template should be provided. Hope this answers most questions.

Re: American Autowire Update wire harness kits finally here!!!
As soon as they find someone local willing to bring a truck in and have time to bring it in the shop, they would look into the issues. Everything seems minor to them except for the park brake issue. I will be looking into it before this 68 goes home to CO in the next couple weeks

Re: American Autowire Update wire harness kits finally here!!!
Free shipping until March 3 on phone orders, March 4 on e-commerce orders. There is a sticky also at the top of the electrical section. Retail on this kit is $539, our price is $485. That equals about 15% off and the lowest you will ever find them for sale by a reputable source. We have sold a bunch the last week or two and they have shipping for about a week now. We have had about half our orders go out, with a few still waiting, but I expect those to go out in the next few days.

Re: American Autowire Update wire harness kits finally here!!!
I posted the info in a thread in the electrical section about the differences. The biggest issue is the interference with where the e-brake cable passes thru the firewall.
