Re: Project 67 C-10
i can take a look but ive looked in lmc and they have 2 dufferent part numbers. one for 67-68 and one for 69-72. im not even sure what year this column is. theres a piece on the bottom above the actual shifter piece that sticks out that is missing so i might have to pick up another for parts. i got another column but its floor shift.

Re: Project 67 C-10
Well got some more kinda done this weekend. Got the donor rearend out which the truck was actually an 88 so can't use some of the parts i thought i could have. And well apparently in 88 they decided to got with a bigger axle wall too, 3 1/8" instead of 3" which my new rear end brackets were for. So did some grinding on those to fit and still trying to get the damn rearend centered. But the truck is all 5 lug now. Cab this weekend hopefully. Would of been a nice short week but no; working today.
Total Hours: bout 92hrs.

Re: Project 67 C-10
Well missed a few posts but made some great progress finally considereing the weather. Got the cab moved to the garage between snow/ rain squalls. Seriously had an inch of snow the other morning and drove 1 mile down the road an nothing. idk. Cab is now on and cleaned out damn mice. Chassis is finally all rolling and motor is almost buttoned up. Got the braket for serpentine setup off of the 88 and blasted and painted it all up looks pretty good. Had a water pump hanging around so i figured i'd run that one for now just had a dyno run on it, so got it all painted up nice and bolted on and forgot serpentine runs water pump backwards. damn. So ran to autozone and picked up a replacement this morning. Got to paint up the power steering pump last and be ready for test fire kinda. Need to go through and redo all the seam sealer in the cab next. I'll get up some pics off of my phone tomorrow got school and test in Differential Equtions wednesday so maybe little slow this week but can't wait for spring break. well at least no school for a week. lol.
Total hours: over the big number: 103 hrs.

Re: Project 67 C-10
nah thats some sort of self ething primer that was on it when i got it. I got to pull all the glass and blast all the seams cause it sat in this state of resto for 10 years and they never put seam sealer on anything. Also gotta finish vacuming out acorns and lysol the cowl so i don't get the plague from working on this truck damn mice. lol.

Re: Project 67 C-10
some colors i sprayed today on the donortruck idk what im doing now. the white base could have dried more so it wrinkled a little bit. sorayed it with an airbrush so thats y theres streaks. lol. My favorite is still the pagan gold just it has to go over the silver metallic base, so basically doubles my paint cost wahoo. still looking for a one coat solution but probably won't find it.

Re: Project 67 C-10
Check out some of the PPG custom colors at the paint store. PPG has close to the same colors as HOK but in some cases are cheaper. (Not in my case) It is worth looking into, and glad I did! I know you will pic the right color, and I agree that the pagen gold looks awesome!

Re: Project 67 C-10
It had been painted before but they just it the areas they could see when it was standing upright so the botom and inside the top edge were bare and rusted so i hit those areas and a few seams with POR15 and then couple coats of black rustoleum.
Yeah it'd be great if i could come up with decision. LOL. Don't really want to do a 3 stage job and especially a kandy. My issue is getting it all to be the same cause if i score a fleetside bed down the road it's going on and think it will be an issue trying too match up a candy. IDK.

Bolted in the core support and battery tray, got to strip down the firewall and inner fenderwells and painting them black. Might be looking at a 67 4x4 this weekend. Have to figure out the power steering box to not sure its in that good shape. Also got another steering column coming.
Total Hours: 120 hours ish.

Quote:
Semi bolted on the repop fenders i got with the tuck and grill. The fenders don't fit that great. The profile shape itself looks good but some bolt holes are a little off. Gonna run 17's and about a 28 1/2 tall tire should fill the wheel well better than these. Total hours: 122hrs.
