Re: And so it begins 64 Crewcab SWB Build w/ Cummins Power
I'm finally back home to Texas! I've been gone for months, but It's time to get back to it. I'm not sure where this project is going to go I've been thinking about putting the 4bt/nv4500 I have into the SWB/BBW that I've got then building a C60 Crewcab with a Cummins 6CT 8.3L, 10 speed, and possibly as a 6x6? Only time will tell, but I want to do something truly unique with the crew cab stuff as I am sure this will be the only oppurtunity I ever get to do so.

Re: And so it begins 64 Crewcab SWB Build w/ Cummins Power
Well, I left again, and now I'm back again, but soon to leave again. This time it seems I'll be leaving Texas in my past. I've been asked to head up to Virginia for a stint of active duty for an undertermined length of time, but at least a year. I'm going to have to be getting rid of ALL my truck stuff. I really hate to let this dream go.

Welcome back to the states. I hope you have fun up in VA. Sorry to hear about you having to sell all the truck stuff. If I had the money I would get that 4BT.

I wouldn't mind getting 2 nice SWB bed sides if you have any and feel like shipping them to Oregon.

Re: And so it begins 64 Crewcab SWB Build w/ Cummins Power
I too use .025 mig wire, however if you experiment you can use .035 and play with the heat. using the wire size to dissipate some heat and not warp the material, make sure you skip across alot(stitch weld). Only prob with mig welding body panels is the welded area is harder than the rest of the panel and cannot be dollied out. You would need a tig to hammer and dollie the seam line.

Sorry about the having to sell to move ( Sail2Japan) - Uncle Sam has some pretty big shops and stuff up there - no way you can hide it in one of those - surley some one there can help you out - anybody up there got anyspace to help this guy. HE and all of our Armed Forces are the reason we can all do this anyway. Anyway thanks for all you have done / and are sacrificing .Have a good Xmas-

Re: And so it begins 64 Crewcab SWB Build w/ Cummins Power
Thanks for the offer, but it doesn't do me any good to have a truck in TX when I don't know if I'll ever be back.
