By the sounds of it you've been busy too....I got called back into work this week so it will be slow going..I need to upolster the console and get it all wired I'm going to put 2 switches ( front up/down and a rear up/down) for the air and move my old 4 swtich panel and main switch to a new glove box ( thats another project) then wire up the seats I'm going to hold off a bit on the head liner and door panels..lmoa..(thats what I say now!!) but they will go pretty quick compaired to the console..by the end of the week my rear end parts will be here and the new bed need to come in to get the wheel wells removed (for the tubs) and get a coat of rustoilum on the bottom before I place it on the truck

I should finish up the inside today or tomorrow and get the door hung back on it .. I have pics and will try to post them soon....Then the fun begins new rear end on a set of Cup car trailing arms and the new wheels...which I hope will be around today so I can get them cleaned and painted

ok update time ( and I'll try for pics) the door is on the inside is complete it looks goo still need to do the headliner and door panels and it looks like I'm going to have some time to finish them up...

I parted my spare frame and removed the bed, rear axle,shocks that where all new..brought that in pull the cover to reviel a set of 3:73's...that makes me SO HAPPY.. it also had all new brakes and spring kits in it 1mocked up the new trailing arms had to remove the wedge spacers and the spring perch ..I built a couple 1" axle block so the bags will be in the working area a little more at ride height...the pumpkin now sits tight to the x member and is above the frame rails about 1 1/2" so it will be tight to the bed..

I'm going to finish up my inside stuff since I'm at a stand still until my rims come in this week..I dont want to set up the panard bar until I can check wheel/rim clearance...also the bar will be reversed compaired to stock since the new trailing arms have a mount on them already so I'm going to build a new hanger outside the frame ( another reason to wait till I have the wheels to measure off) this will make the panard bar almost 4 feet long so side travle will be at a min...

CA CHING!! my low buget build just scored again!!! yep a 94 vortec 350 out of a boat 260 prop hp ...the block is cracked but the heads/intake and rest of it are all good...I'm going to throw a tire in the back of my other truck and go get in before the price changes Oh did I mention the price $$$...FREE...$$$

ok follow my engine build looks like the mouse motor (283) is going to get replaced..with a might mouse...I hope!!! and yea this is on the cheap too!!!

oh boy better scrap the votec Idea pulled the heads to find the head gasket smoked and 1 piston burnt down on the good side the $$ from the scrap dealer has become a 472 Caddy motor/trans..if I told the guy it was sold and saturday I'll call and go get it ( about an hour from me) we'll see my luck has been crap lately so X your fingers

other than that I just added the power brake booster which would have been a 1 hour job but my master was leaking out the back so after breaking the short lines between the master and proportioning valve I'm on my way to NAPA to get the new ones and finish that up

the bed is in the garage wheeel wells came out pretty easy all the bolts came right out I cleaned and scrubbed the bottom pounded out the floor dents and its ready for a coat of paint this weekend...the bad news..there where a few spots the you could see that the bondo was cracking so I whipped out the 6" grinder and some 36 grit after grinding out a gallon of dust I found out it must have been hit back int he day so the PS rear corner was pulled out with an old school drill and pull dent puller....I have about 2 hours in to pounding it back out ( pretty easy with the bed off) I'm going to weld in the 15 or so dent puller holes grind it down I'm alot happier about how litttle filler it will take but I think the board sander is going to be my freind for awhile..I can work on it more after it back on the truck but wanted to get it as straight sheet metsal wise as I can before I put it on the truck and start the tubbing....still waiting on my wheels...

Those are the exact seats I am looking at running in my 67 small window (small hump). What brackets/adapters did you use to get them to sit even and higher up?

Just wondering what you did to get the front down as low as it is...Also, are you running bags/c-notch in the rear?

I have to say that you have good taste in color and rusted rockers...?

Shhhhh don't tell but I'm on the way to Rutland VT to pick up the mother load of motors.....pics soon...

as far as my set up you can look back at what I did but heres the short Version with some things that are in the works as we speak should be rapped up next week

front end:
bagged with cupped stock lower control arms sway bar power steering 235/75/15 on stock rally
rear end:
bagged in stock spring location with nascar trailing arms,2 1/2" Pipe C notch, panard bar from the DS to the outside of the frame....tires are 30/18.5/15 on stock rallies widened with 6" of back spacing

ok here an update on my build.......I found a rear sump oil pan and pick up traded it for the old bed off my truck and even got alittle cash in my pocket and even weeded some parts out I had laying around..thank god because I was running really short on $$$..I'm going to piant it up and get the trans bolted to it...I found a couple stands out of an 86 BB truck that I need to go rape out the next nice day (monday probably lmao) and get them painted and drilled for the Caddy mount....

next will be to roll my spare frame in and mock everything up
new fuel line (the stock one is on the wrong side)
new trans lines
measure up for the DS ..this is going to kill me for awhile till I can get some more $$$$
fit up and paint my spare starter
new vacum lines
might even rollit up on the trailer and see about an exhaust



Still waiting for my rims but I was told monday/tuesday..but I have been hearing that for 3 weeks

today I picked up the pan & pick up tube I need hopefuly this week I'll pick up the frame mounts, I need paint them and the pan..... I also got all the new belts Just not sure if I'm ready for the install ...the trans has been painted I need to pull the pan put a fresh filter in it and a couple of seals.....doing my home work and trying to save some cash for the exhaust and driveshaft so when I do it I can get it back on the road ASAP since its spring time theres lots of dump runs and bark mulch that needs hauling.... I need to hit a coulpe race car buddies for some exhaust header tape I want to wrap the exhaust back past the trans to keep things Kool under there since I want the new exhaust to be above the frame ( not sure how thats going to work with the auto trans linkage??) to keep from dragging it with the new 2" drop spindles..OH did I forget to mention those??

stay tuned I should have a pic of it al bolted together and ready to rock by the weekend

Dpoesn't sound good LHM says that pan won't cut it in our style trucks..so cash flow will be te issue....by the looks of things I'll have $150 in a pan...$50 in trans seals and a filter..$200/$250 for a driveshaft and yoke...and $200 for exhaust work so it looks like Im going to fall about $600 short for awhile.......

I'm not going to take out the running 283/350 out till I can make the full swap.....I drive this almost everyday ..well unless it raining because it need a windshiled gasket $50....

yep cost me under $200 for the pair on the truck with paint and the shipping was the killer the most you can go using the stock rally is to add 4" off back spacing

I cut 11/2" off the stock wheel well and moved it over 1 hole ( about 4 1/2")and put a filler in it.. they look good IMO this weekend I plan to paint the tailgate and get another can of satin black and roll it out inside the bed..Ok I'll have the GF's Kid do it he loves helping me out so I try to plan projects for him...its cheap and really cleans up the inside...Now thtat the wheel wells are done I can go get bark mulch for the yard and test out my new Ag tires on the lawn and get the yard cleaned up..
