Re: Thiftmaster S10 build

We got the body 95 percent ready for paint. We are hoping we can start spraying Saturday. We are very impressed with the Paint color. It is most likely going to be a flat but if the body work is good enuff when we spray it, we might lay some clear on it.

Re: Thiftmaster S10 build

So I assume those uprights bolt to what's left of your original rad support, hard-mounted (no bushings)?

Re: Thiftmaster S10 build

Actually I used the top portion from the factory one and I made a "tray" for the raditator to sit in that bolts to the uprights. Ill try and get a pic of it sitting on there for ya this weekend when Im over at the shop.

I think I'm partially following you, the bottom sits in a tray that bolts to those uprights. How does the top part (or whatever locates your fenders) bolt on?

Very nice build! Post pics of the color while it's flat if you decide to clear it. I've got the Hot Rod Red from Flatz on my dash and I love it!

Re: Thiftmaster S10 build

Well looks like one more week of sanding and we get to spray. Found some more needed body work to be done so pretty much gonna shoot one more coat of primer, block sand AGAIN then be ready for the flat paint.

Looks like your using the flatz copper pearl. Thats what I shot on the firewall. It is not as flat as you might think I love it.

Re: Thiftmaster S10 build

When you mount the cab back to the frame can we see the rear body mounts and how they attach to the frame.

Re: Thiftmaster S10 build

Sure, vwhat we did was welded a nut inside the frame before we boxed it in for the cab to bolt to.

Re: Thiftmaster S10 build

Ya its funny because we almost forgot to weld it in! LOL. We also knotched the back of the cab out about 3/4 inch on the bottom and we are adding a rubber body bushing where the bolt goes into the frame. Hopefully all works out the way we are wanting it to.thanks for all the compliments guys
