Re: New Bowtie Chevy Emblem for a '73 Grille

Another option is to do something similar to the newer emblems. They have basically vinyl graphic type stickers with clear plastic coatings over them to protect them.

I made a replacement emblem for a friends 90 IROC that you can not get the correct emblem for a few years ago.

Aluminum backing plate, vinyl graphic and a thick layer of clear poly.

My truck needs a new insert too. I will put the filler section of the emblem into AutoCAD and do a test print to make sure it is the right shape.

I don't have access to the milling machine or vinyl graphic cutter any longer so this time around I will have to do it by hand.

Good winter project to add to the list.

Re: New Bowtie Chevy Emblem for a '73 Grille

I went through the same hunt a few years back and never found anything, As a last resort I was going to have a graphic artist I know whip me up a couple from vinyl which is a cheap option.

At the last minute I ran across a NOS grille with the emblem on ebay, Yeah baby..... No one was gonna top my max bid !
