I can't wait either. My daughter is 2 1/2 years old. I hope I still need the family hauler when it is finished. Progress is slow. After the door is done it should start moving faster.

Tell me about it. My daughters keep me so busy I get next to nothing done on the cars or house.

Before them I could build a nice car from a pile of old parts in 3 months. Now I will be lucky if it only takes 3 years. They are worth it though.

I seem to work slow. Worked on it all day and it doesn't look like I did much again. Instead of modifying another latch area of the door jamb I just made one. I copied the passenger front door latch area. Installed it on the rear of the drivers side B pillar. The fourth door latches.

B pillar is not done but it is getting boxed in piece by piece.

Want to say there is progress but there is not.
Plans for new garage this year will help future progress.
Need more room because here in Washington we have 364 days of rain per year and welding in the rain isn't good. 220 volts and water don't mix.

Seriously though, I have gone through your, frizzle fry, and rokcrln builds many many times! For your window frames did you use more than 2 doors? I would like to avoid cutting up my extra left door.

Don't try to weld under an awning on a rainy day in Washington. (The rain lasts for 10.5 months)

Do be patient. I am fixing problem this summer with a new garage. Permits are in order for new garage and work should start by August. Still need to tear old garage down first. Then I can work inside.

Seriously, what I did on my window frame was aquire 2 rusted out suburban front doors for free and use the square window frames to build the one I needed. I did a mirror image of the right rear door. My window frame isn't permanent yet since the door isn't finished.

I used one drivers door to start, one passenger door so the body line will line up and two old rusty (and I mean rusty) suburban doors for the frames only. Combine this with the inner panel from the suburban and the hinges from a F*$d and I have a door that opens suicide, the window rolls up & down and it latches on the B pillar with the original truck hardware.

Still have a long way to go to make it look good.

MMMMM, bet that dump trailer wasn't even there behind that D-max! Thanks for the info on the doors. I'm wondering how far I can get with the two pick-up doors... Good luck on the garage!

Glad you are making progress on the shop.

It still hasn't really stopped raining for more than a few days. By last weekend we already have 30% more rain than we typically get in a whole month.

And you are on the drier side of the hills.
Drove the other truck on a poker run and to a show last week. I'm rethinking the heater/defroster delete I did. Also the drag radials out back. Paper towels for a defogger sucks and hydroplaning with the family isn't fun. The suburban will be all weather friendly so I can drive it more than 2 days a year.

It slowed me down a little but thats what happens with an extra 12,000 lbs. On one trip the gravel alone was 9300 lbs!!!
That worries my wife because I can haul lots of other junk home with ease. Just look at the back yard, toys everywhere.

I know what you mean. Wait until the drag radials wear down a little more then try to drive it in bad weather. They wear down really fast on the street.

How pathetic am I? The drag radials have been on the truck for 10 years and I raced it once in 2001. The rest of the time has been on the street and they still aren't worn out. I need to drive it more so they will wear out, then I can get new tires and the Coys I want. Wife can't argue about the purchase if it is needed.

Wow, you really know how to baby a set of tires Mine wore out to zero tread depth in two months on the street.

They work better at zero tread depth until you hit the non-tread compound layer but are not street legal or safe if the roads are even damp let alone wet.

Go have some fun and wear those tires out so you can get the Coys.

Yes, downtown Puyallup. Apparently I went by your house a week ago on my was back from the Kingsmen run in Orting. I hope to drive it more this year.

Don't remember where I found out about it. Have been doing that run for 10 years. Missed 2008 only because my daughter was 2 months old and I still had bucket seats in truck. It is Saturday on Fathers Day weekend, poker run starts in Tacoma and was 50 miles long. My speedo is way off so that is a guess.

Hey swamprat I must have been near your house when I found my gas guage was also having issues. Was at Sprinker at a poker run stop and my engine sputtered. Almost died on Pac Ave. My fuel pressure started jumping and I stopped at the Gas Boy around 166th.
