Thanks!!

I pulled my old engine out today. My daughter was a BIG helper!! We are fortunate enough to be able to work in a shop of a friend rather than out side in the cold.

There she is, just waiting to rumble. You can also see my selection of lubricants.

And so it begins......

Cheyanne is my helper. She says since the truck has her name on it that it belongs to her. hahahaha

I am making a pile in some sort of organization so I remember what goes where.

Ready to pull the old one out...

Now I will clean this up and paint it.

I am soooo close to installing this engine. I may have it in the truck tomorrow evening and I will have it running by Saturday for sure. I put on another HEI I managed to get my hands on and I have the wire set from the ignition 12 volt source.

Here she is again!!

Wink Re: Phlebmaster's 1972 C20 Evolution***56k- NO WAY!

I finished the install tonight. All I need to do now is put coolant into the radiator and start her up. I will do that on Saturday and have a neat swap video to share.

Here are the obligatory pics.

My helper was excited to get started...

I made sure that torque converter thing was put in all the way...

Got it in, just getting everything lined up...

Just to prove that I actually did some work. lol

Thank you.

Today is the day!! I will make a video of the start up and then combine pictures of the whole process in a youtube video. My daughter did a bunch of work on this project and I am very proud of her.....and myself for that matter. This was my first bare block build.

Now that the engine is done I am getting started on the body and paint. Today I put the beginning touches on the flat black paint I want to use as a base coat.

I haven't decided myself yet if I want to do a satin black paint or a glossy when I get back to my longbed build....

I am considering going with the Hot Rod black which is a satin. So far I am liking the black.

I finished priming the cab today with the flat black paint. I will finish the bed when I have more time...but she is coming together nicely.

Yes it does!! Now time for the bodywork. I am thinking of painting her Massey-Ferguson Red. The paint is cheap so I can change my mind later if I don't like it.

LOL anytime! I work for beer and food..

Well, I went ahead and did it again! I spent some money and bought my truck a brand new Holley 750 0-3310c manual choke with vac secondaries.

I LOVE this carb! All I had to do is put it on and start the truck. No more messing around with old questionable carburetors. The 750 has quite a bit more kick than the Holley 570 I just took off.

Oh, not to mention that it looks pretty sweet on the engine too.

Re: Phlebmaster's 1972 C20 Evolution***56k- NO WAY!

Hello everyone! My name is Justin. I am the one that bought Phlebmaster's truck. I have to say that the engine is still running very strong! one great build! I have made several changes though..It still has the mr. gasket headers, but they now feed dual forty series flowmasters ( It has a loud enough rumble now that it rattles the pictures on our walls!!! ) and just for future reference, orange RTV silicone is not for exauhst connections Phleb LOL ! I know thats all you had at the moment!
The wife hates it, but thats ok right....? Also I added a high torque starter, new HEI dist. ( the old one was toast ) Also I have done a ton of body work and it has gray surface primer on it now. I will keep you updated on more changes and future progress.
