truck looks great. Love the decision with the steering column. Looks real clean, wayyyy better than that s-10 wheel.

keep us posted

Re: 53 ~ S-10 project (yup, another one)

Thanks guys. I've got a 79 c-10 as my donor truck for the engine/trans. So, next up is to pull the engine/trans and take it to my buddy who builds race engines to freshen everything. The trans is a little sluggish on it. I haven't been in a hurry because I'm hoping to sell the 70 Mach 1 my brother and I built in about a week so I'll have more cash.

I scrapped the idea of the 79 C-10 donor, sold it and found a killer deal on a 85 Camaro

originally a 2.8 car that someone put a 350/700r4 in.
Removed the engine/trans and did a little freshening up.

I'm using "backwards" S-10 v-8 mounts

So, the motor goes in for tacking the mounts in place and measuring where to cut for my trans tunnel. Then back out for final mounts welding and cutting the firewall

The front clip was just on with one bolt in each fender and the upper support rods. I wanted to double check room for the radiator before welding (instead of after)
Motor in with front clip, mounts tacked in place
Then motor back out, front clip off
Weld up mounts, cut firewall for trans hump

Then motor back in

Trans is in now and I'm making up rear trans crossmember now.

Re: 53 ~ S-10 project (yup, another one)

SLOWLY a little more progress.
Got brakes, PS lines, throttle cable, kick down cable, etc all hooked up.
Just got too many other projects going on.
I'll continue to work on it, but I also put a for sale ad in the trucks for sale section if anyone is interested.
