All right slick67, I need prices and available dimensions on your work!!! I'll show the wife this weekend when I get home from overseas so she can save her money for my birthday.

I was thinking garage art but your work looks good enough to make it in the house!!

Thanks Brian! Normally I draw em on 11X17 paper cause frames are easier to find. Your wife wouldn't have to save much, they aren't expensive!

Cool. I have not done a big rig in a long time, since I was a kid. Don't really do farms, but surely someone will read this and contact ya. Really appreciate the compliments!! I always did drawings cause I didn't think I would ever have anything real like them, but my build is turning into one!!

Re: cool drawing

I would be happy to do a drawing of your farm! It seems like it would be more of a black and white pencil drawing than color anyways.

Re: cool drawing

Slick, you are getting better. That 442 looks like your best so far with coloring. A tip for chrome is to add more colors (oranges, blues, greens, browns) Any type of colors that maybe in the horizion. What type of color pencils you using? You may also consider using chalk pastels as they flow nicely or even guash(sp) which is a ink almost water color. They are looking good bud. Trevor

I'm just using a pencil, map color pencils, a Sharpie, and white guash on some of the later ones for highlights. I have been trying harder lately to get the reflection right or at least better. Maybe one day I'll take a class or something. Thanks for the advise and compliments!

Re: cool drawing

There is some great drawings in here. You guys are very talented. I love to sketch cars so I will have to post mine up. I just need to scan them first. But until I get my sketches scanned, I will post some drawings and paintings I have pictures of from a high school art class two years ago. We had to do twelve pieces in the second semester that stuck with one theme so I chose to draw and paint my family's as well as our friends' cars.

Here is a drawing of a picture I have of a big rig spinning tires

This is a close up of the grill on my 37 Chevy

This is my dads friends 69 Camaro. This was one of the first ones I did, so I ended up screwing up the proportions a little by stretching the cropped pic to fit the canvas

A painting of my truck a night with headlights shining on it

Probably my favorite drawing, its one of my dads friends rollbacks

58 Vette owned by the same guy with the rollback

My moms 96 Impala SS, I really like the way the logo came out

Re: cool drawing

My dads van, probably my favorite painting

My dads work truck before he retired

My brothers 78 Caprice

50 Chevy truck that was my uncles but we got it when he passed away

My dads friends tow truck

Another one of my dads friends 72 C10. This truck is called Mustard and is the first C10 I ever drove and probably the reason why I started liking these trucks.

This is a great thread, shows the other talents all of us truck enthusiasts have. Mayo, those are really cool. Paint is a difficult medium to use and your pics have a certain touch that makes em seem real. We all can connect to at least one of your drawings! My fav is the tailgate on Mustard!!!

Re: cool drawing

Thanks for the compliments guys. It seems like everyone likes the tailgate of Mustard the best. That is the last one I did, so it probably is the best one due to the practice I had on the ones before it. Paint is very difficult, or atleast it was for me. I took a lot art classes in high school, and it took me until my final year to learn how to paint decent and the last month to paint well imo. I started out just using solid colors, and overtime as I progressed I started to experiment and learn how to make high and lowlights and others stuff. I have only painted one thing in the almost 2 years I have been out of high school, so I might just have to get out a canvas and see if I can still paint as good now as I could then.
