Soba 425hp Vette engine is slower than a lightnings 240hp engine? Doesn't sound like anything matches in that article lol

Re: I "home chromed" my 73 grill

I'm about the buy a billet grille and a cut off wheel. And I have hated billet grilles with a 73/74 hood latch its almost impossible to open the hood with out bending things.

Re: I "home chromed" my 73 grill

I had a 88-98 once that at first under the hood the grill was black and was peeling to show chrome, I remember doing the same thing. Also a buddy in highschool had a mightymax who did the same thing also. I would suggest if you try this to take a q-tip with goop off or paint remover and apply it to a inside corner or a harder to see spot.

Re: I "home chromed" my 73 grill

Don't use aluminum polish on chrome.... It has a cutting agent in it and it will leave scratches on chrome.... Get chrome polish!!

Re: I "home chromed" my 73 grill

It'd be tedious but a 73/4 chev grille would be awesome completly chrome imo

Re: I "home chromed" my 73 grill

I bought a nice GMC grill but the previous owner had it painted when his truck was painted. Its silver with red painted on GMC letters and 350 emblem. How to tell if there was chrome underneath with out hurting my paint? I want it chrome but if it isn't chrome I want it just how it is.

Re: I "home chromed" my 73 grill

dragonball98312 I wouldnt mess with it. My guess is they scuffed the grill down for paint adhesion. I will bet that the chrome underneath has some sand scratches in it.

Re: I "home chromed" my 73 grill

My question is, why are some chrome grilles chrome underneath, and some not? Doesn't make much sense.
