Clean looking truck Desert.

Don't know if it truely was or not but it seemed to be one of the most popular OEM 2 tones in my area when these trucks were new.

I know this is old, but I felt compelled to respond. There was a time not long ago that these trucks were being called the "rounded line" generation. Just like you stated the "rounded line" tag described the head lights and rounded trim line on the fenders of the 73-80 trucks.

The magazines picked up on the "square body" tag to describe the 81-87's and next thing you know the entire 73-87 series was being called square body.

I agree that is is very descriptive of the later trucks, and it flows well, but the 73-80s are not even close to being square.

Ken this will always be an ongoing debate. But don't be surprised If I steal your idea of tHe black and red two tone like in the rendering.

I remember when I started driving (late 90's) these trucks were called "shoebox"

that looks like my dads
sadly my dad just sold it over the weekend for 200 bucks because their was tomuch that would ned to get fixed and it sat for 6 years

since everyone is showing off two tone paint does anyone have a picture of a square with maroon on top white in the middle maroon on bottom? I can't find a picture of it anywhere

My boss when I was in high school my boss a 3/4 ton with that paint scheme...well that and rust if you count that as a color

and a one of a kind cardboard/newspaper/vinyl flooring/misc. debris layered floor pans that gave when you stepped on them

It was the shop truck that got used for everything from trash to pushing/pulling vehicles, to courtesy shuttle (for the brave).

Her name was Big Red. Sadly I have no pics but plenty of memories.
