Inside.....cause I plan on putting a full interior in eventually and it will cover it up. Just be careful not to push to hard cause when the bit goes through the first layer, you will punch a dimple into the outer layer causing yourself a crap load of extra work.

So I was looking back through this thread and saw this pic without any explanation

Did you build or buy this snorkel? I need to fab one up on my Burb, I'd appreciate any info you could provide
Ooops, not sure why that picture ended up in this thread...lmfao. Got to many builds on the go. That is from my K5 Diesel trail rig build....Yes built it myself. My "shnorkle"....made from sewer pipe....lol. Just went to the hardware store and started piecing things together. There are more pictures/description in my "gangreen" build thread. I just pieced the connector parts together in series then sanded it so that it all looks like one piece, and there are voids inside along every piece so that any type of debris/water will get stuck there instead of in the filter. Also has a drop pipe just before the air cleaner just incase anything decides to get past or seep in.

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude

Managed to get some more work done this weekend. Welded up the cab light mounting holes as the new ones appearantly mount different (caught it before priming...thank god), 2 coats of PPG industrial epoxy, 3 coats of highbuild primer, now just let her bake in the sun for a few weeks while I work on some other stuff and then block it out.

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude

Not a whole lot at this point...been busy trying to prep for winter (covering the septic field, putting parts away and just general clean up around the yard before snow flies).

...and brought home another crew cab 4x4....lol. This one was super nice but all in pieces as it was a project that someone lost interest in. Will get shortened as well and have some plans in place for it as well. Small lift, steelie 16x10's with max of 35's, just a nice clean driver. Should be pretty sweet when done too...but time will tell and gotta get this one to a drivable state first.

Did get the front fenders (insides) sanded down ready for primer and paint, guide coated the cab and have it 50% blocked out, dually fenders are prepped, repaired and primed. Other than that...not much has happened yet. Will get some updates here soon.

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude

.....on the fence again about keeping it a dually or swapping over to a srw. Will still stay 8 lug but really don't know what it will look like as a shorty dually. Any opinions?

The only way to do a ccsb is with dually fenders. It takes makes the conversion unnoticeable at first sight.

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude

I'd leave it as a CC SWB DRW. Everyone has a SRW!

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude

ya, seen that but hard to tell. I have one of a 4x4 version as well and it looks like they set the fenders back a couple inches to and looks ok. Just need to see some pics I guess to be able to make up my mind. I have a crap load of work to do in the meantime anyways, but would like to decide for wheel/tire combo soon so that I can keep an eye out for the right deals.

Re: Project: Crew'd Attitude

Another dilema I have been fighting with......paint schemes. I have a few going through my head and I'm sure they would all look ok but wouldn't mind some unbiased insight.

** Things to consider: I already have brand new carpet sitting here in grey, can find seats like the black ones in the thread at the wrecker for probably around $300 bux, and have grey door panels already. This truck will be a driver and will see gravel roads, parts runs, kids, and of course shows. I like to keep my builds realistic and as drivable as possible but still keeping the "what the *$&^$" effect if you will.

Not really worried about what has been done or not done at this point with paint cause depending where you are located it all will vary, and technically it has nearly all been done before somewhere.

1) Patina white exterior (hand painted buisness logo on doors and down box sides)
Lipstick red interior

2) Patina white exterior (hand painted buisness logo on doors and down box sides)
Patina white dash with grey carpet, seats, door panels, etc.
Airbrushed/tatoo'd mayhem all over the dash in a collage of old school stuff from the
hot rod era. Then made to look sort of patina'd and old.

3) Bright white exterior
Bright white dash with grey carpet, seats, door panels, etc.

4) Original 73-74? GMC metallic green
Grey interior

5) Original 73-74? GMC metallic green
Tan/doeskin interior

6) Flat black exterior
Grey interior

7) Flat black exterior
Lipstick red interior

....this being said I am now picturing a SRW conversion keeping it 8 bolt pattern and steelies or possibly the smoothies in a 20-22" painted to resemble the steelies with factory hub caps. If I go with factory 16"ers (which I very well might just to be a bit different) I would like to go with a big fat white wall on white wheels. Photoshop is down for a bit or I would chop something up.

Regardless, let me know what you think.
