Re: 1961 Indian
Dsign,
What are they charging you to blast the cab? That suburban chassis is the same wheel base as a short bed truck 115'. What's wrong with the lwb chassis? I say put a dropmember on the front and run the kp kit on back? Are you gonna run a 61 hood? Keep them pics coming! Later Tony from Norcal Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 1961 Indian
$700 blasted and primed.
Well, that throws in wrench in things. I thought the Burb frame was the same length as a longbed. Nothing is wrong with the frame I have. I'd just like to build a complete PB chassis and run the dropped trailing arms instead of the KP stuff. I'll be running a 63-66 GMC hood, but more to come on that later. |

Re: 1961 Indian
Finally getting settled in our new place in the SF East Bay Area.
I came across a very clean, very original 2 owner '72 GMC that I couldn't pass on. Also scooped up a bone stock '65 LWB frame Tues that I'll be starting from scratch on with all PB stuff. |

Can't wait to see all the new PB stuff on that frame! What did you end up doing with the Kp stuff? Nice GMC too!

Re: 1961 Indian
A quick update here. When we moved from Sacramento back down to the SF Bay Area a few months back, I lost a lot of space for a project. Instead of doing a complete frame-off restoration, I'm going to do a little bit at a time while driving it as my only truck.
Today I scooped up a 1963 C10 1/2 2wd longbed that has a '60 grill from the foothills in NorCal. AAA should be towing it to my place later this week. Immediate plans are getting the thing safe with a front disc brake conversion while getting it a little lower. This will be more of a traditional hot rod that will be a static drop that won't lay out. Updates to come. |

Re: 1961 Indian
Upgraded my AAA membership earlier this week. Gertrude arrived this afternoon on a flatbed after a 130 mile hike from Garden Valley, CA down to Walnut Creek.
Kicking around the idea of caravan'ing down to AZ for the GoodGuys show with SuperFly, so I've got my work cut out for me in the next month and a half to make this road-worthy. Ordered the disc brake conversion kit today from ECE along with front and rear springs. Scored a set of steelies today that I'll have stripped and powdercoated. Ordering headers tomorrow and will be finishing the exhaust asap. 1.6" whitewalls need to be ordered tomorrow too. Better pics to come. |
