You have to drill the holes for the outter most pieces...that connect to the bed sides. Or no?

Yes you have to drill the small holes in the angle piece but not the large holes for the 8 bolts that hold the bed down.

The "small window" trucks do look especially good in black (satin or gloss)! Even with a black "face", very nice. Never seen black wood for the bed....looks great!
