Re: Crew cab ??
I'm curious to what the difference is in cab length between these things (and leg room for rear seat). I really like the 456 style front cab, but then it has the rear doors with the rounded edge near the front top side. It just doesn't look like the glass is stock. Can anyone measure that out? BTW, Dino, your truck is ridiculous!

I know where two are if people are interested I was going to buy both but the wife talks financial sense into me everytime I bring it up.

Re: Crew cab ??
I'm still determined to start one of these projects, but now my wife is having her input. She loves the 60-66 suburbans (she doesn't want a car that won't fit all the kids and dogs...), but she's wondering if there are any that aren't 2 door. I only found the Stageway conversion, but there's no way I'm getting a bus right now. It would be cool to see if anyone has done an added 3rd or 4th door.

Re: Crew cab ??
Well, I think I hate the way they added the door on that one...but maybe it's the wheels that are killing me. I was imagining something more like the coach, or crewcab style doors added on. Maybe I'll give it a try on paint. Thanks!

Re: Crew cab ??
here is a quick photo chop to help it out, the idea has potential, just needs to be refined a bit.
on this I dropped the rear door line to the wheelwell to make it flow, then squared the roof post, it still fights the angle of the rear of the front door post, but that is something that is hard to work out in our style truck. you could go with a straight post on the front and rear door, and move the two closer together.

Re: Crew cab ??
I do like the post stood up on the crew cab, but a longer rear door would definitely help the proportions in my opinion . And the suburban looks a lot cleaner photoshopped . How about a mega cab version of a 65 crew cab, then you could have some legroom these trucks sorely need .

Re: Crew cab ??
hey thank you guys for the pics !!! especially jon ? i am about to start on my 66 crew cab .i had a 86 single wheel crew cab parts truckcomplete roller frame. but it looks like the bend in the lower frame is dipped too much -soo the cab mounts would probably be too tall & look stupid ? i do have a 66 3/4 ton 4x4 truck chassis ! might be neat w/ a crew cab on it ! need to decide ? i do have the old crew cab 2 wd chassis BUT it is flogged bad ,it was a "stageway " conversion BUT the chassis was welded bad and twisted and beefed up with scrap junk !it will take a lot of grinding ? might just get a 72 chevy truck frame and start there ? i do need some door hinges for the left rear door ! its just bolted in the jam i guess i could get some recast and machine them out? SURE WOULD LIKE TO BUY A SET FROM SOMEBODY ? anyway keep the crew cab pics coming guys thanks mike "carryallman" wahl

Re: Crew cab ??
A true Stageway crew cab will fit an any 63-72 long wheel base truck chassis, just if you were wondering.

It looks like this company is selling it. There are a couple pictures where you can barely see the B pillar, and it looks kind of nasty.http://classiccarliquidators.com/cla...d/C1546S108125
