Thanks. As a matter of fact the truck will need to be repainted. I really like this color so I may repaint it a shade darker. Still not sure yet though, sooooooo many paint choices!

Man, those tucked bumpers look good. I may have to do that with my K10. Gotta get the bed on first though lol.

Is 1.5" the standard for pulling the bumper in? How far did you bring yours in Z?

just see the distance is from the bed and the bumper first and then you can see how far you want it in

Re: West TX Z build up thread

That is probably what I'll end up doing. I was just asking because my bed is off right now. Figured it would be easier to to with the bed out of the way if the measurement was pretty standard.

Re: West TX Z build up thread

I thought it was guess, mess up, and install a roll pan?

I do like these sporty bumpers though. Not at first, but they grew on me. I still feel strange owning a K10 with one...

Mine was about 3.5". I guess it depends on the brackets you have on your truck. Good luck with it, its a easy FREE mod.

Re: West TX Z build up thread

Whoa! 3.5" is a big difference. I will just wait to get the bed on then. Thank you for checking!

Maybe while I'm at it, I'll chop the sides, and pull them in. I had planned to either get the bumpers powder coated, or line-X coated anyway.

nbpro- I saw that before. It looks sweet!

Thats odd. It looks cleaner on yours. Mine needs to be brought in some on the sides as Altec stated. Could there be a difference in who stamped out the bumpers? Shouldnt they all be the same? Thanks for the pic.

i wouldnt think they would be different. i just pulled this one out of the junkyard for 30 bucks with all the bolts and out side brackets. and just buffed the **** outta it and waxed it. still has a few dents and scratches but un noticeable

Re: West TX Z build up thread

Out of curiosity I went and took a few measurements, if anyone wants to compare the widths.

Driver side (22.187"). Measured from the outside of the frame rail.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/IMAG0068.jpg

Passenger side (22.062"). Also measured from outside of frame rail.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/IMAG0069.jpg

Passenger side top edge (6.687"). Measured from the butt end of the frame rail.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/IMAG0070.jpg

Driver side top edge. Measured from the butt end of the frame rail.

Adding the side numbers with the frame width ends up right at 78.25". Figured I'd get both measurements together. Not sure which would be easier to get with the bed in the way.

For a 26 year old bumper, I'm shocked mine is as square as it is.

Re: West TX Z build up thread

You have no pictures of the engine compartment. What is the original engine. What engine are you putting in it? only says Camaro. You paid someone else to put the engine in for you? Is it a Big Block from a 6cyl? looking forward to more info and pics. Thanks
