Re: "The 72" build
i finally have pictures! but every time i try to upload them, it says i dont have some sort of security token? any of you know about that? i got the shortblock done! i know it sounds like i dont get much done, but ive never done this before and im trying to do it all on my own. i went with the scat kit. im undecided on the rest of the engine. it has forged pistons and 6 inch rods.67chevy1series, its ok that you gave em to someone else cuz i found a mint set of m/t's off ebay for less than 100 bucks.

Re: "The 72" build
Well i havnt been on here in awile and its because i just started working on my pickup about 2 weeks ago since the last time i posted on here. Since i was last on here we got flooded out of our farm and had to move out to a different house and i didnt have a place to work on it and we were swamped with work including things related to the flooding and the farm work. But ive started working on it again because we were able to move back to the farm after we built up our driveway. I ended up having the machine shop build my 383 for me. It has RHS pro action heads and a comp roller cam. Im estimating about 430 hp. I bought a super t10 for it and the engine, tranny, and headers are installed

Re: "The 72" build
That is one sweet motor, I would love to drive a 430 plus hp truck!!!! It would probably beat the neighbours 1967 GTX.

Re: "The 72" build
well heres the specs on the engine.
scat rotating assembly, forged flattops, 6 inch rods heads, rhs pro action heads, 180 cc intake, i wanted 200cc but the machine shop suggested 180's cam, comp xtreme energy roller, duration at .050 is 230/236. lift is .510/.520 harland sharp roller rockers. i cant remember the ratio but i think 1.5 or 1.6. the machinest had them and he gave me a good deal. edelbrock performer rpm air gap edelbrock 750 carb m/t valve covers yeah our life was turned upside down with the flooding and my pickup was crammed in an old building surrounded by other machinery and i never had the chance to work on it. im really excited about it now tho. |

It was dropped when I bought it, all I know for sure is it has 2" lowering blocks in the rear.
