Ya your not too far in Wylie. We should get a meet together. I thought it would be cool to have a little truck meet at the shop. That is is y'all don't mind a bunch of old Corvettes, Chevelles, Camaros etc.

You're right around the corner from me. I grew up in Plano. Let me know when you wanna have a little meet and greet. Nice to know there's another Apache in the area. And i'd love to see corvettes, chevelles and camaros !

I bought this 59 last week and went to pick it up in Iowa this weekend... I decided to take it off the trailer south of Kansas City and drive the rest of the way home. We pulled into Wylie about 8:30pm..

I'll start a build thread soon. Going to change a few things on her.

Amen to that. I already have a "to do" list. Do you happen to have a spare set of wiper blade arms?

I'm game !... I'm gonna try make it out June 7th and meet you guys in Stillwater, then caravan back to Arlington on the 8th.

If that's not possible then maybe i'll meet up on the 8th. What time are you guys departing Stillwater? Taking 35 south?

Re: Another 1959 Apache build!

My dad is looking at pickup himself so maybe he and I can come down there on the 8th. Its more like 45 minutes from Plano but still not too bad. Im down for the meet though! Also if anyone needs a shop to do some repairs during the tour my shop doors are open just hit me up. Its right off 75 in Plano.

* Sin, I may actually be able to help you out with the wiper blade arms. I will check the parts truck tomorrow and see if they are still on it.

Re: Another 1959 Apache build!

Ogre, i'm going to drive north next friday. If my calculations are right, you guys should be in Thackerville (texas/Ok border) right around 1:00. I'll wait there and jump inline when you guys come through.

Wheelie, are you going to Linear Automotives open house tomorrow on Ave K and Plano Pkwy? if so, i'll see you there. I'll be in the Apache

I ran into your shop by accident when i was looking for a parking spot. we walked over and talked to who ever was working that day. I forgot his name already though. He was real cool. Didn't want to take up much of his time because he was busy. Shop looks great !

Re: Another 1959 Apache build!

Completed removing the brake and clutch brackets. Rivets suck ass! A tip for anyone removing them I found it best to cut an X in them and use an air hammer to break off the heads. Using a BFH and a large chisel works also. I found a kit from welder series that allows me to use the upper bushings on my 8.8 rear end. So I have once again changed my mind on the rear end set-up. Im going triangulated 4 link to eliminate the panhard bar.

Re: Another 1959 Apache build!

I rebuilt and POR-15 the springs and removed 3 load springs per side.

Got my axle flip kit installed and mocked up. Still gotta weld the perches and set pinion angle.

Also layed out the crossmember design in tape to get an idea of what I want to do. Still havent set in stone a final design.
