No cab mods??? Just curious as to how you have clearance for the driveshaft set up. Can you take a few pics and post them for us?

PS....from the pics, it looks like you cut the cab floor open and bent the the floor up around the trans. Also looks like the motor is tilted down a good ways toward the back??? Can you comment......thanks

Re: layed out 67 swb project M.A.C.

very nice build. im also going with a belt driven compressor and you made it almost look stock. I'm still a few months away from getting it all done but it helps to see others do a complete restore/custom build and seeing a finished product.

Im sorry, your absolutely right. I relieved the floor where the tranny hump is. Getting the truck lay rocker I am barely running any cab mounts. Just a small piece of rubber stripping. So with that being said, I had to cut out the floor right there. Also the engine is indeed at a tilt backward. I didnt want to have to do a tunnel. It doesnt take much of a tilt at all but it surely is cocked back. The transmission obviously tapers down toward the output shaft and there was plenty of room for the driveline to mate up. there is a very short first drive line (about 14" I think) and under the rear of the cab there is a custom cross member with a stock carrier bolted to it where the longer rear driveline slips in to it.

Re: layed out 67 swb project M.A.C.

tailgate finally dialed in and installed. Currently having a shift kit put in the 700r4 and waiting on 3.73 gears for my rear end so i can get some performance out of the thing. also since I originally created the thread I have added fabricated aluminum valve covers. a holley double pumper carb and done some more engine compartment organizing. Continuing to work on that ever so large check list.

Did this truck ever get a drive train? Maybe a better question is will it move under its own power? One things for sure, it looks really good.

Re: layed out 67 swb project M.A.C.

Sorry havent been on in awhile. yes the truck has is a runner driver has been since august. Ive continued tuning on it throughout the last several months. its a 20 over 4 bolt main 350 with aluminum edlebrock heads 510 duration can and performer rpm air gap intake with a holley 650 carb. about 420 horse. In recent trade deals though i have acquired a weiand 142 mini blower and msd 6al distributor. Should be putting 500 plus to the wheels in the next week or two. Ill upload pics asap

One of the sickest builds I've seen. Excellent worksmanship. I wouldn't have had the creativity or the nads to pull that off...great clean build

Re: layed out 67 swb project M.A.C.

Its been a long time since ive been active on the site, but it is time to get everyone up to date. Since Ive been on last I have finished my interior added some Hurst Racing cheater slicks. Done multiple engine and drive terrain improvements with even more to come! I also have installed porter built hinges, installed my tailgate and lettered it. Here is a photo of me headed to Hot August Nights in Reno last August, We drove that bad boy 500 miles each direction with the blown small block, eventful trip and a damn good weekend:

Here is one from The show and shine downtown Reno.

So there are some more photos of whats been going on. This week I am doing a rear end because mine is totally stock with stupid high gears (3.08). I am going with 33 spline axles, 3.73 gears with a posi. Also doing ford 9" outer backing plates to eliminate c-clip situation. In addition to that I am also doing a different looser converter. By the spring my plans are also to have fender well headers, raised wooden bedfloor, and install my nostalgic hilborn mechanical fuel injection. Yes mechanical injection. on pump gas on the street. With some recent developments with a local speed shop it has been proven it is totally realistic. Couldnt be more excited to make it all happen!
